Conservative Friends of Israel

Conservative Friends of Israel, abbreviated to CFI, is a British parliamentary group affiliated to the Conservative Party, which is dedicated to strengthening business, cultural and political ties between the United Kingdom and Israel. CFI is an unincorporated association. It also seeks to strengthen ties between the British Conservative Party and the Israeli Likud party.

It was founded in 1974 by Conservative MP for Bury and Radcliffe, Michael Fidler. It is currently chaired by Stuart Polak. The Parliamentary Chairman is James Arbuthnot, the Parliamentary President is Baroness Shephard of Northwold. The Vice Chairmen are John Butterfill and James Clappison, the Secretary is David Amess, the Officers are Alistair Burt, Lee Scott, and Theresa Villiers, and the Chairman of CFI Europe is Timothy Kirkhope.

In 1995 Conservative politician Robert Rhodes James called it "the largest organisation in Western Europe dedicated to the cause of the people of Israel".[1]

By 2009, according to the Channel 4 documentary Dispatches – Inside Britain's Israel Lobby, around 80% of Conservative MPs were members of the CFI.[2] In 2013, Peter Oborne, the Daily Telegraph's chief political commentator called CFI “by far Britain’s most powerful pro-Israel lobbying group”. The same is true of AIPAC in the US.”[3]

 

 

Activities[edit]

The group's 2005 strategy identified the following areas of activity: supporting Israel, promoting the British Conservative Party, fighting terrorism, combating anti-semitism, and promoting peace in the Middle East.[4] According to their website, "over two thirds" of Conservative MPs were members of Conservative Friends of Israel in 2006.[5] In 2007 the Political Director stated it had over 2000 members and registered supporters.[6] In 2009, at least half of the shadow cabinet were members of the group according to a Dispatches documentary.[7]

Their website states the opinion that it is one of the fastest growing political lobby groups in the UK.[8] According to the Dispatches documentary, between 2006 and 2009 the CFI funded more than 30 Conservative parliamentary candidates to visit Israel.[7]

In 2012 CFI reconstituted itself as a private company limited by guarantee.[9]

CFI annual business lunch[edit]

David Cameron, then newly elected leader of the Conservative Party, addressed the CFI annual business lunch on 30 January 2006, whose audience included half of the Conservative Parliamentary Party. As part of his speech, he stated "I am proud not just to be a Conservative, but a Conservative friend of Israel; and I am proud of the key role CFI plays within our Party. Israel is a democracy, a strong and proud democracy, in a region that is, we hope, making its first steps in that direction."[10]

Former Conservative party leaders Iain Duncan Smith[11] and Michael Howard[12] have addressed the CFI lunch.

The British Pakistani MP Sajid Javid has also made business lunch speeches which have been positively received by the CFI, the Jewish Chronicle even reporting Javid as a future Prime Minister.[13]

Donations[edit]

The Dispatches documentary claimed members of the group and their companies have donated over £10 million to the Conservative party between 2001 and 2009. The group called this figure "deeply flawed" saying that they have only donated £30,000 between 2004 and 2009 but that members of the group have undoubtedly made their own donations to the party. Dispatches described the CFI as "beyond doubt the most well-connected and probably the best funded of all Westminster lobbying groups".[2][7]

Brexit and Jewish Oligarchy

Yesterday Britain voted to leave the EU. The causes of this result have been known for a while. More than half of the Brits are dismayed by the level of immigration, multiculturalism, lack of job opportunities, global capitalism, evaporation of manufacturing and a housing bubble that leaves most young Brits without the prospect of a decent future.

The Brexit was an outlet for these legitimate frustrations. Yet the problematic symptoms listed above have little to do with the EU or Brussels. Their root cause lies elsewhere.

Immigration and multiculturalism (that is; the ideology designed to suppress expression of chauvinism) are integral to cultural Marxist ideology. Britain, like the rest of the West, has been subject to an invasive and brutal paradigm designed to vitiate the working class.

Flooding Britain with immigration was a conscious political act pushed by the Jewish left and the Jewish lobby. This is explainable. Jews have good reason to be fearful of the working classes. Historically, it has been the working classes that turned against the Jews. Breaking society into fragmented and diverse segments is transparently a Jewish left interest. When a society is broken into a manifold of tribes and identities, the Jews become merely one tribe amongst many.

I am an immigrant myself and not an anti immigration campaigner. However, at a certain stage in the early 2000s my eight piece Orient House Ensemble consisted of seven immigrants and one native Brit. We were Israelis, a Palestinian, a Romanian and a Moldovan. At the time our ensemble won every British musical award. We were a favourite of the BBC and the Guardian’s album of the year. We were heroes of multiculturalism and the symbol of a new ‘tolerant’ British society. The British Council sent us around the globe to promote those ideals. This didn’t last long. I quickly grasped the underlying agenda. As those who know me may expect, I didn’t keep my mouth shut.

Yesterday the Brits voted against immigration. But leaving the EU may not be the answer for their plight. Looking into the elements and ideologies that planted pro-immigration policies and multiculturalism may be the ultimate way forward.

The demography of the referendum suggests that it is primarily the British working people who want to leave the EU. In the last four decades they have watched manufacturing dying out. They saw an economic bubble that left many of them impoverished and off the property ladder. But it wasn’t really the EU that caused all of it and leaving the EU may not improve things. Milton Friedman, who taught ‘free market’ philosophy to Margaret Thatcher, never lived in Brussels. Friedman believed in the service economy. He also believed that capitalism wasn’t just a great idea, it was also

very good for the Jews.  Goldman Sachs, George Soros and others who fecklessly destroy one country after another are also not part of the Brussels Government. The British vote was actually a vote against Goldman Sachs, Soros, Friedman and cultural Marxism, but most of them do not know it yet.

Yesterday the Brits proved, once again, that they are a brave people.

They made a decision that they understood could inflict some serious difficulties on their society. Knowing that, they marched into the Brexit with pride and I admire their courage.  The Brits voted against immigration, banksters, the global economy, the City and the two parties that have facilitated this disaster for decades.  However, the Brits failed to attack the root cause of the problem.  Leaving the EU is not going to emancipate them. For Jewish oligarchy, the Brexit is a red alert. ‘Hands off’ would be the most clever strategy. Can they follow this humble advice? I doubt it.

Most British Jews have little to do with it. Liam Fox and Michael Gove who were amongst the leaders of the call to leave, are notorious for being dedicated servants of the Jewish lobbies. The Jewish press was pretty quiet on the Brexit.

And

crucially, if British Jews had identified that the call to leave the EU was somehow related to Jewish power, Jewish Banking or Jewish Left pro immigration we would have seen the rapid formation of a

“Jews for Brexit campaign.”

This is what Jews do when they detect dissent to their political power, they immediately form the bodies that control the opposition.

The Political is Personal

Whatever the British people decide about the EU the people who dwell on this island have been pushed to think patriotically and nationalistically. The decision each of us make to vote for ‘remain’ or for ‘leave’ will be based on the realisation that this political decision will have a significant personal impact.

Party Politics is A Severe Form Of Detachment  

Both major parties failed to assess the huge appeal of the ‘call to leave.’ This blindness proves that the estrangement between the British political universe and the public is complete. This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Many of the Britain’s political leaders are public school graduates. They are foreign to the experience of most of the British people.

Big Money And The ‘Left’ Are United

The right wing capitalist Tories and the so-called ‘Left’ (Labour) support the remain campaign. How is it possible that the ‘Right’ and the ‘Left’ or shall we say, money and labour, support the same campaign or seemingly the same goal? Simple, the dichotomy between Left and Right is a myth. Both parties are funded by the same lobbies and serve the same interests. Both parties are supported by big money. Both parties are committed to consumerism rather than production. Both parties are tied with Jewish lobby groups and are attached to a Zio-con global agenda.

 Cognitive Partitioning

There is a big education gap between the leave and the remain supporters. The polls suggest that people with university degrees are keener on staying in the EU than are those who left school at 15 or 16. This reading agrees with the findings of the 1990’s era book, The Bell Curve (Herrnstein & Murray). Our political decisions are based on cognitive ability rather than on wealth, class or party affiliation. Those who are less educated and dependent on demand for manual work and manufacturing are less likely to trust the EU because they see the EU as a threat to their jobs. Those who are educated are more likely to see opportunity within a vast market.

The End of Correctness

For the last four decades we have been bombarded with the message that nationalism is bad, immigration is good, multiculturalism is the future, political correctness is progress and patriotism is reactionary. Opponents of immigration were ‘bigots’ and those who expressed loyalty to the flag were marginal far right racists. While apparently many wanted to believe nationalism and patriotism were dying, it is now obvious that patriotism is alive; vibrant and kicking.  Once an outlet was set for people to express their patriotism, we quickly discovered that at least half of the Brits do not buy into the tyranny of correctness. Belonging and patriotism is engraved within the human condition: its suppression can only be temporary.

The EU Kept Its Promise

The EU was a Babylonian dream. It vowed to mix the people of Europe beyond recognition and to prevent Europeans from killing each other. The EU kept its promise, for decades Europeans haven’t been killing each other, they kill Arabs instead and on a massive scale. I wonder, if Brits decide to leave the EU, does it also mean that we will emancipate ourselves from the neo-imperial agenda that took our army into Iraq, Syria and Libya?

An obsession with diversity should NEVER trump a child's right to a happy foster home

The social services industry prides itself on its cultural sensitivity, especially when it comes to fostering and adoption.

Respect for background and identity is meant to be central to the process of finding a home for a vulnerable child.

But that ideal has utterly broken down in the case that emerged yesterday, in which it was reported that a five-year-old girl from a white Christian family was placed by Tower Hamlets council in London in two successive Muslim households.

Much to the child’s distress — as logged in confidential local authority reports seen by The Times — neither family seems to have shown much respect or understanding for her upbringing or faith.

One supervisor is reported to have described her sobbing as she begged not to go back to the carer’s home because

‘they don’t speak English’.

A necklace with a crucifix was apparently taken from her and she was told to learn Arabic. She was also told that ‘Christmas and Easter are stupid’ and ‘European women are stupid and alcoholic’. 

When, on a visit to her birth mother, she was given her favourite dish of spaghetti carbonara to take back to her foster home, she was banned from eating it because it contained bacon.

Compounding what must have been this child’s sense of alienation, her first carer, with whom she spent four months, is said to have worn the niqab — a face veil — when outside the family home.

In the second and current placement, her carer wore the all-enveloping burka and fully concealed her face in public.

(In my view, this is a garment that should have no place in British society. Both the burka and niqab should be banned, as they have been in France, Belgium and elsewhere.)

It is absolutely right that MPs demand an inquiry into this appalling example of forced cultural convergence.

Social services bosses love to prattle about human rights, but the treatment of this little girl represents a denial of her most basic rights.

If the reports are correct, she has been plunged into an unfamiliar environment of language, creed and dress code, where her carers make plain they have little time for her family or heritage.

To a young child, of course, such words mean little — but we can imagine her confusion and anxiety at the apparent hostility towards her background, the dismissive description of its women and its ancient festivals.

And let’s not forget that she is likely to have been traumatised already by difficult family circumstances.

This is yet another case in which the dogma of liberal political correctness appears to have triumphed over common sense. How else could one even begin to rationalise placing this child in strict Muslim households?

Here is what should happen now. The girl should be removed immediately from her current foster parents to a more appropriate placement. Then the social workers and their line managers who made this insensitive decision should be named, shamed and dismissed.

For centuries, Islam and Christianity were locked in a brutal conflict most have forgotten. The horror, a top historian argues, is that for jihadis it's as real today as it was in the Middle Ages.

...year after year, Turkish forces probed Christian defences, crossing the plains of Hungary or churning the waters off Malta with their warships. In 1529 and again in 1683, an Ottoman army almost took Vienna.

Yet that was to be the last great attempt to extend the Caliphate across Europe. The global balance of power was shifting, and nearly a millennium of Muslim preponderance was drawing to a close.

It was the Christians who colonised America, established trading empires that spanned the globe and started the process of industrialisation.  By the 19th century with India ruled by the British Raj and the Islamic Ottoman Empire scorned in Western capitals as 'the sick man of Europe', Muslims could no longer close their eyes to the sheer scale of their decline.

It was they who were now the imperial subjects, and Islam the civilisation looked down on by its adversaries as backward, as Christendom had once been.

Ever since the first days of their faith, Muslims had tended to take for granted that its truth was manifest in its worldly success.

As a result, subordinated to the infidel British or French there were many in the Muslim world who looked to the golden age of the Caliphate for their  inspiration.

The age of Muhammad and his successors, which had seen Islam emerge from desert obscurity tom global empire, was enshrined as the model to follow. Over recent decades resentment at continued Western interventions in Muslin countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq have only burnished the appeal of the glorious past.

Today, according to a poll some two-thirds of Muslims worldwide want to see the

RESTORATION of a CALIPHATE

It is not empires per se they are apposed to -just

NON-ISLAMIC EMPIRES

Hardly surprising then that al-Qaeda and ISIS should be so obsessed by periods of history that to most Westerners are thoroughly obscure.

That Constantinople

has been a Muslim city for almost 600 years, that the Crusades are done and dusted and that Europe no longer defines itself as Christendom, barely intrudes on the consciousness of many jihadis.

They inhabit a mental landscape in which the Middle Ages never went away. The menace of this way of thinking is brutally evident-a world in which young people murdered a rock concert, can be cursed as 'Crusaders' is a world on the verge of going mad.

It is not just non-Muslims who are threatened by this imperialist nostalgia.

Boris Johnson’s joke about burka-wearing women looking like ‘letter boxes’ made me wince – not least because I know there are so many women forced to dress that way at the behest of their menfolk and who hate how it makes them look.

There are many worse things than giving offence, and one of them is to cordon off contentious topics and designate them no-go areas, while demanding punitive attitudes to people who make inappropriate jokes.

So full marks to the former Foreign Secretary for getting this desperately needed public debate going.

If he’d tackled the subject by writing something that wouldn’t upset even the most sensitive imam, then we might not now be having frank discussions in pubs, on phone-in programmes and on social media about two issues we need to speak truthfully about.

First, are we entitled to outlaw cultural practices that come from abroad that, for whatever reason, a majority of people feel uncomfortable with?

And secondly, in the interests of showing sensitivity towards those who feel slighted, should we curtail free speech?

Taking the first point, I agree with Boris that the burka shouldn’t be banned as it has been in France, Belgium, Chad, Cameroon and Denmark.

Stopping people wearing what they like is an interference with the individual liberty we prize in this country, so we shouldn’t do it.

Yes, the language he used gave offence to the kind of people who like to take offence, particularly extreme liberal cheerleaders who think it unforgiveable ever to criticise minorities.

He has also, of course, given the Left a golden opportunity to distract attention from the anti-Semitism that is poisoning the once great Labour Party by alleging that the Conservative party is Islamophobic.

But it cannot be denied that many of us talk in private about how we are troubled by the burka and the niqab, though few of us will say so in public for fear of being accused of being Islamophobic or racist.

I come to the subject as someone who has studied Islam. When Islamist acts of terror emerged as a potential threat here, I wanted to learn more about the dangers posed by extreme Islam and began reading extensively, writing and debating about it.

The climate for debate, however, has deteriorated because of restrictive laws about so-called hate-speech passed by a pusillanimous liberal elite, officiously policed, and supported by teachers and academics who tell their students they can’t challenge liberal pieties until they end up too terrified to question anything.

Added to that are sanctimonious media and Twitter mobs that can destroy people’s careers with screeching accusations of racism or sexism over a clumsy word. As a result, free speech is becoming gradually stifled.

This in turn spreads resentment and can fuel the far-Right, as we are seeing in Britain. So I feel that those of us who are battle-hardened should tell the truth bluntly, even if it’s impossible to open your mouth without offending somebody.

Personally, I feel that wearing the burka and the niqab implies a rejection of our society, yet I have no doubt that some women are permitted no choice but to cover up by fathers, husbands or brothers.

I also believe strongly that we should stand up to self-appointed spokespeople like Baroness Warsi (she has accused Boris Johnson of encouraging hate crime), and Lord Sheikh (he wants him thrown out of the Tory party) who try to shame us out of being frank.

I have read the Koran twice, and know there is no requirement in it for women to cover their faces or even their hair. So any time you hear anyone claiming otherwise, know they are either ignorant or lying, and feel free to tell them it’s an Arab cultural practice that is out of place in the West.

My position was neatly summed up on Twitter by Maajid Nawaz, a one-time Islamist who co-founded Quilliam, the think tank which challenges extremism. Through his LBC radio show he debates with everyone and is cheered on by many Muslim listeners who hate what is being said in their name by fundamentalists.

The burka ‘is the uniform of medieval patriarchal tyranny,’ he wrote. ‘It victim-blames women for their beauty. Where this is enforced it symbolises violent misogyny. I’m not advocating banning this monstrosity but I refuse to defend it. It deserves to be ridiculed. Not the women inside it.’

Neither the law nor misguided sensitivity should prevent women being required to show their faces at passport control or to police or security personnel at the point of entrance to any building, public or private.

Shops should have the right to refuse service to anyone with a covered face. No child should have a schoolteacher nor any patient a nurse whose face they can’t see, and any judge and jury are entitled to watch the expressions on the faces of participants in a court case.

Much as I dislike the veil, though, I do sometimes smile at someone wearing one if we are in close proximity, not least because it’s all too possible they are unwilling victims of a tyrannical relative, and I want to reassure them that they are not in a hostile world.

I have nothing but contempt, however, for non-Muslims who defend a uniform that isolates women from normal life and makes it almost impossible to make cross-community friendships.

I hope the hysteria over what was a perfectly rational and liberal article – with just one or two elements that might have been better expressed – will encourage us all to stand up for our right to say what we think, however unfashionable.

Boris Johnson has sparked fury after saying that women who wear burqas and niqabs look like 'bank robbers' and 'letterboxes'.

The former Foreign Secretary used his weekly newspaper column to say the Muslim head veils are 'oppressive' for women.

And he hit out at male oppressive regimes around the world who force their female populations to adopt them. 

But he also said he does not agree with Denmark's decision to ban the coverings, warning the move risks backfiring and fanning the flames of radicalism.

His remarks have sparked fury - with Labour MP David Lammy branding the ex cabinet minister a 'pound-shop Donald Trump' and warning he is fanning the flames of Islamophobia.

Mr Johnson used his weekly Daily Telegraph column to criticise burqas - also spelt as burkas - but urged caution in the state's role in intervening to stop women wearing them.

His intervention comes days after after a 28 year-old woman became the first person in Denmark to be fined under new laws banning full-face Islamic veils.

Mr Johnson wrote: 'If you tell me that the burka is oppressive, then I am with you. 

'If you say that it is weird and bullying to expect women to cover their faces, then I totally agree – and I would add that I can find no scriptural authority for the practice in the Koran. 

'I would go further and say that it is absolutely ridiculous that people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes; and I thoroughly dislike any attempt by any – invariably male – government to encourage such demonstrations of 'modesty', notably the extraordinary exhortations of President Ramzan Kadyrov of Chechnya, who has told the men of his country to splat their women with paintballs if they fail to cover their heads.'

What are the controversies surrounding the

The wearing of the burqa (pictured) and niqab are very controversial in the West and triggered a number of countries to crack down on them and impose bans 

The burqa and niqab have both been mired in controversy in the West, where politicians have warned that women are being forced to cover up.  

Here are some of the controversies surrounding the head coverings:  

Terror suspects have escaped surveillance by disguising themselves in burqas 

Mohammed Ahmed Mohamed, escaped surveillance by disguising himself as a woman in a burqa in November 2013.

He went missing from a mosque in Acton, west London, after putting on the female covering.

A trial was halted after a Muslim woman refused to take off her niqab in the dock in August 2013.

Judge Peter Murphy would not accept a plea from the 21-year-old defendant because he said he could not be sure that the person in the dock was who she claimed to be. 

Several European countries seek to ban or impose restrictions on wearing the burqa 

In 2010 France passed a law to ban the burqa. The European Court of Human Rights later upheld the prohibition, saying it accepted France's argument that it helped its citizens live together.

In December 2016, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the wearing of in Germany 'wherever it is legally possible'.   

He said that if a constituent came to his office with with her face obscured 'I should feel fully entitled – like Jack Straw – to ask her to remove it so that I could talk to her properly'. 

He added: 'If a female student turned up at school or at a university lecture looking like a bank robber then ditto: those in authority should be allowed to converse openly with those that they are being asked to instruct.'

But he said that he does not agree with Denmark's recent decision to impose a total ban on burkas and niqabs.

He said: 'If you go for a total ban, you play into the hands of those who want to politicise and dramatise the so-called clash of civilisations; and you fan the flames of grievance. 

'You risk turning people into martyrs, and you risk a general crackdown on any public symbols of religious affiliation, and you may simply make the problem worse.' 

His intervention came days after a woman, 28, wearing a niqab became the first person in Denmark to be fined under new laws banning full-face Islamic veils.

The woman was fined after getting into a fight with another woman, who had tried to tear of her veil. 

She was told by police she would be fined 1,000 kroner (£119.37) in the post, and was told to remove her veil or leave the public space, but decided to keep on her headwear.

Denmark introduced a law on August 1 where people wearing a burqa, which covers a person's entire face, or a niqab, which only shows the eyes, while in public carries a fine of 1,000 kroner. 

Balaclavas, masks, false beards and other accessories are included in the ban.

Mr Johnson's comments were slammed by Labour, with Naz Shah, Labour's Shadow Equalities Minister, saying: 'Boris Johnson's latest racist insults can not be laughed off, like they often are.

'Our pound-shop Donald Trump is fanning the flames of Islamophobia to propel his grubby electoral ambitions.' 

Mrs May's official spokesman said: 'The long-standing Government position on this is clear, that we do not support a ban on the wearing of the veil in public.

'Such a prescriptive approach would be not in keeping with British values of religious tolerance and gender equality.'

The foreign aid budget should be used to help persuade illegal migrants to return to their countries of origin, a report says today.

Small grants could help them set up in business back home, offering them an incentive to leave the UK voluntarily rather than fight deportation.

A report by the centre-Right think-tank Policy Exchange urges ministers to adopt a 'carrot and stick' approach to removing tens of thousands of illegal migrants.

A system of 'voluntary returns' already offers payments of up to £2,000 to help them 're-integrate' in their home country.

But today's report suggests cash from the £14billion overseas aid budget could also be used to provide a greater incentive.

The study notes that voluntary returns are far cheaper than the £11,000 average cost of removing someone against their will.

It says ministers 'should be doing everything possible to encourage people to leave voluntarily, including offering more money'.

It adds: 'The Home Office should consider a joint scheme with the Department for International Development to help returnees set up businesses in their countries of origin.'

The report calls on ministers to use Britain's departure from the EU to reset the immigration system and get to grips with illegal arrivals.

It suggests the new ID registration system for EU citizens after Brexit should also be rolled out to British citizens to avoid another Windrush scandal. 

The idea of a national ID system for UK citizens is controversial, with many opposing it on civil liberties grounds.

 

The Home Office said they are 'pursuing an ambitious programme of reform at the border'

A £5billion national identity card scheme was introduced by the last Labour government in 2006 but a Bill to scrap it was the first legislation introduced by Theresa May when she became home secretary in 2010.

[This is typical of Theresa May everything she touches turns out to be a disaster and the people have to pay for it from the complete lack of 'Bobbies -on-the-Beat and the long saga of ineptitude in taking years instead of months to get us out of the EU - before it self destructs.]

EU citizens already in the UK will have to pay £65 and join a registration scheme if they wish to stay in the country after the end of the transition period on December 31, 2020.

In the report, Policy Exchange's David Goodhart suggests that the scheme should be widened to Britons, initially on a voluntary basis.

He said: 'We strongly recommend reopening the debate about ID management to reassure people that we know who is in the country, for how long and what their entitlements are. A proper national ID system would have prevented the harassment of the Windrush victims.'

In a controversial recommendation, the report also suggests a form of amnesty for thousands of migrants who have been in the country illegally for more than a decade.

Mr Goodhart said: 'While a general amnesty for the estimated 500,000 illegal residents here would send the wrong signal, some form of regularisation should also be considered for those who have been here for more than ten years, who are now parts of their communities with ties to the UK and often become the focus of grassroots campaigns.'

A Home Office spokesman said: 'We are pursuing an ambitious programme of reform at the border.'

THERESA  May's chief Europe adviser was accused of orchestrating a Brexit coup last night as it emerged he and the Prime Minister will take full control of negotiations with Brussels

It was announced yesterday that Oily Robbins's Europe Unit in the Cabinet Office would take responsibility for the preparation and conduct ' of the exit talks

At the same time, Mrs May said she take 'personal control' of negotiations. By contrast, new Brexit  Secretary Dominic Raab will be  left with a 'deputising' role in the process. And his ministry-Department for exiting the European Union (DExEU-will be tasked with preparing Britain for whatever deal is eventually agreed. Dozens of DExEU staff will join Mr Robbins Cabinet Office Unit.

The latest moves come just two weeks after Mr Raab's predecessor, David Davis, quit DExEU in protest at Mrs May's controversial Brexit White Paper.  And they sparked claims that Mrs May had reneged on HER PLEDGE-made when she  stood to be Tory leader -THAT EXIT TALKS WOULD BE LED BY A BREXITEER

Yesterday's changes were announced just before Mr Robbins gave evidence at the BREXIT select committee

At the hearing he was accused by MPs of having snatch control of the entire Brexit process and of orchestrating a coup against Mr Davis and his  former department

Tory MP Craig Mackinlay said: I feel that over the last few months I have been misled because quietly somewhere, ther was a coupd'etat going on between either  the proper DExEU department or the Europe department or  at the Cabinet Office.

Mr Mackinlay said Mr Davis had set out the progress he was making on a White Paper which would have had 'approval by the public at large' but 'somehow, quietly, that was ripped up'. Instead, the Cabinet  agreed the Chequers plan which Brexiteers fears GIVES TOO MUCH AWAY   .

Mr Robbins denied the claim, saying: 'I honestly don't recognise the picture you are painting.' He did admit that he had started work on the Chequers White Paper' a fortnight or so' before it was agreed to.

Mr Raab told MPs it was conceivable that the Prime Minister could make even more Brexit concessions to Brussels. The Brussels Secretary said he would continue to have 'extended conversations, negotiations' with EU negotiator Michel Barnier over the next three mnths.

He said the Government's negotiating position was 'a serious substansive offer' not the final one.

In a written statement, Mrs May said she was taking personal control of EU withdrawal negotiations. She added: DExEU will continue  to lead on all of the Government's preparations for BREXIT: domestic preparations in both a DEAL and a NO DEAL scenario, all of the necessary legislation, and preparations for the negotiations to implement the detail of the Future Framework.

'I will lead the negotiations with the European Union, with the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union deputising on my behalf. Both of us will be supported by the Cabinet Office Europe Unit.'

Labour's Brexit spokesman Jenny Chapman said: 'Dominic Raab has been sidelined by the Prime Minister before he has even had the chance to get his feet under the table.'

It came as Chancellor Phillip Hammond promised to guarantee funding for any UK projects which receive EU grants up to the end of 2020 in case of a NO DEAL BREXIT'

Smart meters are expected to cut energy bills by just £11-a-year, much less than

originally hoped. 

Half of energy readers also stop working when customers switch energy suppliers and a

tenth go ‘dumb’ due to poor signal, MPs and peers said yesterday.

A cross-party committee warned the £11billion project to install the meters in every home by 2020 should be urgently reviewed.

They said consumers are ‘picking up the tab’ for the ‘over time, over budget and mismanaged scheme’.

The gadgets are supposed to help customers save money as they can track how much energy they are using. It also makes bills more accurate as they are no longer based on estimates.

Yet an analysis of Government figures found that projected savings for customers have been slashed dramatically.

The average annual saving on a duel fuel bill by 2020 was estimated in 2014 to be £26, but this has now been reduced to just £11.

The report by the British Infrastructure Group (BIG) of MPs and Lords warned many smart meters have stopped working because of bad mobile phone signal or after switching supplier. 

Tory MP Grant Shapps, who is chairman of the group, last night called on the Government to launch an immediate review.

He said: ‘Over 90 parliamentarians are stepping in to ask ministers to ensure the smart meter roll-out acts in the interests of consumers. Smart meter technology, which promised to help consumers, looks in severe danger of predominantly benefiting electricity suppliers instead.

‘Currently the smart meter roll-out is going to be delivered over time, over budget and with consumers quite literally picking up the tab for supplier mismanagement.’ The report found more than half of the one million customers with a smart meter who annually switch provider are left with a gadget which has lost its smart features.

The report also warned about suppliers also using ‘scare tactics’ in order to meet the target of getting meters installed in all homes by 2020.

They highlighted tactics including stating that ‘bills would otherwise go up, smart meters are compulsory, current meters are unsafe, and booking installations without a customer’s consent’.

The report said: ‘The roll-out of 53million energy smart meters, far from being a programme which would provide benefits to all, has been one which continues to raise significant concerns.

‘Customers have firstly been left paying over £11billion for outdated and obsolete smart meters, up to 10 per cent of which have gone “dumb”, and which have actually made switching harder.’

For those in despair over the lack of progress on Brexit, as our political class trade blows and the entire process becomes bogged down in a quagmire of their making, there is a small corner of a government department that they can turn to for cheer.

It is the office of Crawford Falconer, Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser at the Department of International Trade, a man of immense experience in such matters. And, in contrast to the doomsayers, his message about Brexit is one of almost unbounded optimism.

Rather than get het up about every scintilla of the negotiating process, he insists on looking at the bigger picture, saying: ‘Keep your eye on the end game.’

 

It is the office of Crawford Falconer, Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser at the Department of International Trade, a man of immense experience in such matters. And, in contrast to the doomsayers, his message about Brexit is one of almost unbounded optimism

Thrive

He is convinced that after a period of psychological and economic adjustment to being outside the EU, Britain’s fortunes will thrive. He cannot understand why people are ‘so negative about our future’, and says the world is ‘begging’ to do trade deals with us.

Some will scoff, of course, saying his upbeat comments are simply the pipedream of a pro-Brexit ideologue.

But that could not be further from the truth. For Falconer is a man with 25 years of experience in international trade negotiations. He was New Zealand’s ambassador in Britain (although born in Scotland, he was brought up a Kiwi), as well as his adopted country’s permanent representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

His knowledge of the working of the Geneva-based organisation is crucial, considering its role trying to tear down trade barriers, lower tariffs and resolve commercial disputes between nations. Indeed, the fact is that if Britain leaves the EU without a deal, all our world trade relationships will be in the hands of the WTO.

Yet his verdict on a post-Brexit Britain could not be more upbeat.

‘The opportunities are enormous,’ he told the Sunday Times. ‘There are so many, where do I start? In ten years, maybe even quicker, people will look back and say: “Oh, why were we so negative about our future?” ’

Nor is his optimism dimmed by Mrs May’s Chequers deal. He believes that once outside the EU, whether after a soft or a hard Brexit, the Government will be much better placed than the doom-mongers behind Project Fear claim.

He says we’ll benefit from a ‘change of direction’ — not least because Brexit has forced businesses to focus on the potential of selling services and goods outside the EU.

Indeed, his enthusiasm is so infectious it makes you think that if he was in charge of Brexit, the whole thing would be wrapped up by now.

And far from being pie-in-the-sky, his reasoning is based on solid evidence.

The Washington-based International Monetary Fund forecasts that over the next ten to 15 years almost all significant global growth will originate outside Europe.

By 2020, China’s middle class — who are powerful engines of economic growth — will have expanded to 600 million people. India’s already numbers up to 300 million. It is estimated there will be 1.1 billion African middle classes by 2060.

Envied

Those populations, Falconer explains, will be desperate for British services and goods.

‘The world is the UK’s oyster,’ he says. ‘We produce the best professional services in the world. Our banks are the best in the world. Our insurance companies the most reliable. Our architects, our designers, our lawyers, our accountants: they are world-class.

‘We have intellectual property rights to die for. It is these services that the fastest-growing economies in Asia and Africa crave. The world is begging for the UK to be able to trade with it. We’ll be pushing on an open door.’

He sees huge export opportunities in goods from cars to aircraft wings and foodstuffs. ‘The world is crying out for protein and safe food generally. In East Asia, that’s what they want. They don’t trust their domestic production, with good reason. The UK makes world-class produce. We can now negotiate with countries in a way that’s specifically tailored to getting our salmon and our venison on tables.’

He’s right. Even amid the present political stalemate, Britain’s exports of professional and financial services to the rest of the world (including the EU) climbed from £36.9 bn in the first quarter of 2017 to £37.8 bn in the same three months of this year.

As well as a being a powerhouse for financial services, Britain is home to Europe’s top four research universities and dominates in sectors such as popular music, computer gaming, video and publishing.

We’re world-beaters in pharmaceutical and aerospace research. Our technology know-how is envied across the globe, with Chinese, Japanese and American digital firms constantly on the prowl to buy our leading innovative firms.

In the past six months, Chinese firms have invested £1.7 bn in UK technology.

Every businessman or woman worth their salt is fully aware of the opportunities available by exploiting this huge competitive advantage.

And Dr Liam Fox and his Department of International Trade colleagues are determined to do so. Post-Brexit, they argue, Britain can take advantage of all this.

Of course, following two world wars, Britain has benefited hugely in economic terms by sharing trade interests with other members of the EU.

But the fact is that, despite Brussels bravado about the efficacy of a Single Market, EU member states have suffered over recent years because their Brussels rule-setters have been too inward-looking. They are obsessed by trade within the EU — to the detriment of the potential of wider possibilities across the whole world.

In contrast, the Department of International Trade looks outwards. In pursuit of the deals Britain must strike post-Brexit, Fox has travelled more than 300,000 miles. He may be mocked for trying to woo trade partners by giving them Union Jack cufflinks, but this ignores the hard work that his senior officials such as Crawford Falconer have been doing.

Bluster

 

Freed at last from the shackles of Brussels, what Dr Liam Fox and Crawford Falconer want is for Britain to seize the ‘enormous opportunities’ ahead. And for our political leaders to stop all their squabbling

Their outward-looking drive is vital at a time when Donald Trump has launched an international trade war by imposing tariffs on Chinese goods and taxes on imports such as steel and aluminium from EU countries. Indeed, the fear is that we are heading for trade wars on a scale not seen since the Thirties.

I am not so pessimistic. Too few people realise that behind all his bluster, Trump’s goal is not to sabotage the world’s trading system but to spark a new round of negotiations which will lead to tariffs being reduced in the long run.

Indeed, his policy is already having success. China and India have lowered tariff barriers in response to his threats.

Meanwhile, German car manufacturers have made it clear they want to negotiate tariff-free trade between the U.S. and Europe for motor vehicles.

The shape of global trade is changing before our eyes — and it is trade outside Europe that we must encourage.

Anyone who listens to those who want the UK to stay in the EU would think that Brexit was a crazy act of self-harm.

The truth is otherwise. Ever since the Brexit vote, our economy has prospered. Unemployment is at its lowest level since the Seventies.

Freed at last from the shackles of Brussels, what Dr Liam Fox and Crawford Falconer want is for Britain to seize the ‘enormous opportunities’ ahead. And for our political leaders to stop all their squabbling.

 Notice to readers:  For the next three weeks, barring some unprecedented news event, the reports will be pre-written as I take my annual sabbatical off the grid and off the Internet.  Your understanding is appreciated.

As we prepare for what may be the final autumn offensive that finally overthrows the Khazarian mafia cabal, it’s a good time to look at the big picture to understand why a secret battle for the planet Earth has been raging all these years.

The best place to start is still the U.S. election of the year 2000, which was a coup d’état against American democracy that started the Nazi Fourth Reich headed by Fuhrer George Bush, Sr.  That election was between two Western secret government factions:  Faction 1—the Nazis, who wanted to kill 90% of humanity in order to “save the environment”;  and Faction 2—the Global Warming faction, who said this could be accomplished by using “global warming” as an excuse to impose a carbon tax and a world government.

The Nazis won by using fraud, murders, and death threats to terrorize the U.S. establishment into handing over power.  This was followed by very real attempts to murder 90% of humanity.  The Nazi regime of George Bush, Jr. began spreading bioweapons like SARS, weaponized bird flu, Ebola, etc. to wipe out most of humanity.  At the same time, they created starvation crises in 33 countries by paying farmers money to grow “biofuel” instead of food.  They also tried multiple times to start a nuclear world war using Iran, Syria, North Korea, and other hotspots.  This is important to remember and cannot be repeated often enough:  these people tried to kill you and your family, and are still trying to do so.

Enter the Asian secret societies.  They learned of the Nazi plans to murder 90% of humanity by successfully eavesdropping on their secret meetings, notably the Bohemian Grove gatherings.  In 2003, the spreading of SARS—a bioweapon designed specifically to target only Asians—was their real call to arms.

This led to a rupture between heroin- and amphetamine-dealing East Asian underworld groups and their cocaine- and marijuana-dealing former Nazi allies.  The Nazis, however, anticipated this break by moving their heroin operations from East Asia to Afghanistan during 2001–2002.

The Nazis, as they described in their report “Project for a New American Century,” also tried to cement their control of the world by seizing the oil fields of Iraq and Central Asia.  They use the threat of cutting off oil to keep Asia under control.

The Asians responded by threatening to assassinate the top leadership of the Western secret government.  In particular, they targeted the individuals who were members of all three of the following groups:  the Bilderbergers (European cabalists), the Council on Foreign Relations (American cabalists), and the Trilateral Commission (Japanese quislings and their masters).

Britain's exports around the world boomed to a record £616 billion last year, official figures have revealed.

Ministers last night heralded the growth surge, which shows the trade deficit is narrowing, as a vote of confidence in the country ahead of Brexit.

International Trade Secretary Liam Fox said Britain was continuing to defy expectations two years on from the referendum vote to leave the EU.

 

Figures show that 55 per cent of exports in 2017 were to countries outside of the EU and have seen growth in recent years

The figures showed that 55 per cent of exports in 2017 were to countries outside the European Union, with the US representing almost a fifth of sales.

Overall exports of goods rose by 13 per cent to £339billion, while services increased by 7 per cent to £277billion.

The total trade deficit – the difference between UK exports and imports – narrowed by £5billion to £25.8billion. 

The US remained the UK’s top export market, buying over £112billion worth of goods and services in 2017, an increase of 8 per cent on the year before.

 Other top markets included Germany, France, the Netherlands and Ireland. 

Exports to Germany totalled £56.8billion last year – the second highest figure after the US. For France the total was £40.4billion, the Netherlands £39billion and Ireland £34billion.

British exports to China jumped to £22billion, a 29 per cent rise from 2016. It is now the UK’s sixth largest export market, accounting for 3.6 per cent of sales last year compared with less than 1 per cent in 1999.

Trade with India also increased, with the UK exporting £6.7billion there in 2017, up nearly a fifth from £5.7billion in 2016.

 The fastest growing export market for the UK since 2010 was Oman, with sales in goods and services rising 354 per cent to £3billion.

This was followed by Macedonia, which grew by 318 per cent to £1billion and then Kazakhstan which was up by 210 per cent to £2billion. 

Dr Fox, who has just returned from a nine-day trip around the world to boost trade, said: ‘British goods remain in global demand as exports to non-EU countries continue to grow.

‘It shows the confidence the world has in our goods and is important as 90 per cent of [growth in] global trade will come from outside EU.

‘As an international economic department, we have a dynamic and experienced team who will negotiate free trade deals and make a success of Brexit.

‘We’re also supporting UK businesses in exporting more and talking to international businesses on why we should be the top destination for investment.’ 

The International Trade Secretary began his latest mission in Washington a fortnight ago, before flying to San Francisco and then Tokyo.

He said the talks in Japan were among the ‘most positive’ he has had. While there he met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the country’s economy minister Toshimitsu Motegi and local business leaders.

Brexit supporters last night said the latest trade statistics should be ‘another nail in the Project Fear coffin’. 

Remainers had claimed that exports would suffer if the UK backed leaving the EU.

Tory MP Anne Main said: ‘This is really encouraging news and highlights the confidence countries all across the world have in our markets and goods.

‘The overwhelming majority of future growth will come from outside the EU.

‘We should grasp the opportunity of Brexit and expand our trade with the rest of the world.

‘This is another nail in the Project Fear coffin which should have been dead and buried a long time ago.’ The International Monetary Fund has said that 90 per cent of growth in the next decade will be outside the EU.

  Brussels could breach its own laws if it fails to help Britain with Brexit, Whitehall sources said last night.

Pointing to the Lisbon Treaty which requires the EU to pursue a policy of 'prosperity and good neighbourliness' with bordering states, one insider told the Daily Telegraph: 'The way they are behaving is making things difficult. The foreign aid budget should be used to help persuade illegal migrants to return to their countries of origin, a report says today.

Small grants could help them set up in business back home, offering them an incentive to leave the UK voluntarily rather than fight deportation.

A report by the centre-Right think-tank Policy Exchange urges ministers to adopt a 'carrot and stick' approach to removing tens of thousands of illegal migrants.

A system of 'voluntary returns' already offers payments of up to £2,000 to help them 're-integrate' in their home country.

But today's report suggests cash from the £14billion overseas aid budget could also be used to provide a greater incentive.

The study notes that voluntary returns are far cheaper than the £11,000 average cost of removing someone against their will.

It says ministers 'should be doing everything possible to encourage people to leave voluntarily, including offering more money'.

It adds: 'The Home Office should consider a joint scheme with the Department for International Development to help returnees set up businesses in their countries of origin.'

The report calls on ministers to use Britain's departure from the EU to reset the immigration system and get to grips with illegal arrivals.

It suggests the new ID registration system for EU citizens after Brexit should also be rolled out to British citizens to avoid another Windrush scandal. 

The idea of a national ID system for UK citizens is controversial, with many opposing it on civil liberties grounds.

 

The Home Office said they are 'pursuing an ambitious programme of reform at the border'

A £5billion national identity card scheme was introduced by the last Labour government in 2006 but a Bill to scrap it was the first legislation introduced by Theresa May when she became home secretary in 2010.

[This is typical of Theresa May everything she touches turns out to be a disaster and the people have to pay for it from the complete lack of 'Bobbies -on-the-Beat and the long saga of ineptitude in taking years instead of months to get us out of the EU - before it self destructs.]

EU citizens already in the UK will have to pay £65 and join a registration scheme if they wish to stay in the country after the end of the transition period on December 31, 2020.

In the report, Policy Exchange's David Goodhart suggests that the scheme should be widened to Britons, initially on a voluntary basis.

He said: 'We strongly recommend reopening the debate about ID management to reassure people that we know who is in the country, for how long and what their entitlements are. A proper national ID system would have prevented the harassment of the Windrush victims.'

In a controversial recommendation, the report also suggests a form of amnesty for thousands of migrants who have been in the country illegally for more than a decade.

Mr Goodhart said: 'While a general amnesty for the estimated 500,000 illegal residents here would send the wrong signal, some form of regularisation should also be considered for those who have been here for more than ten years, who are now parts of their communities with ties to the UK and often become the focus of grassroots campaigns.'

A Home Office spokesman said: 'We are pursuing an ambitious programme of reform at the border.'

Hear the Prime Minister speak and you would think that she’d sooner die in a ditch than allow building on our much-loved green belts.

She and many of her ministers have long insisted that this ‘countryside next door’ for some 30 million of us is untouchable.

Look on the ground, however, and think again. The green belts are facing the biggest crisis in their history as they are lined up to accommodate nearly 460,000 new homes.

And, as the Mail reveals today, the ministerial mask has slipped. When asked if she ‘would be happy to pave over our green and pleasant land’, Liz Truss, the powerful Chief Secretary to the Treasury, clearly struggled to toe the PM’s line.

Now this widening gap between political words and deeds is sparking revolt all over the country, as angry residents of rural and urban areas alike mobilise to fight developments of thousands of houses in areas they’d long been told would remain for ever green.

According to the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), record amounts of green belt are already being concreted over. Last year, the CPRE reported, 3,387 dwellings were completed on virgin countryside in the green belt: only eight years ago the number was zero.

Well, we ain’t seen nothing yet. In 2017, developers applied for planning permission to build another 16,728 houses and flats on these ‘greenfield’ sites, while nationwide councils are releasing vast areas of green belt for future development. So far, this amounts to enough land for a staggering 459,000 homes.

It is completely at odds with what Mrs May has repeatedly told Parliament: ‘The Government is very clear that the green belt must be protected,’ and ‘the answer to our housing crisis does not lie in tearing up the green belt’.

Last year Sajid Javid, then Communities Secretary and in charge of housebuilding, described it as ‘absolutely sacrosanct’. Now, in a podcast interview for the Financial Times, Liz Truss says that the choice was between ‘building on more greenfield sites’ to address the housing shortage or ‘losing the election and ending up with Jeremy Corbyn’.

Bunkum and balderdash, as Sir Bernard Ingham, Margaret Thatcher’s famously rambunctious press secretary, liked to say. The surest way for the Tories to lose votes is terminally to alienate their most faithful supporters.

That is already happening. In May’s local elections they lost control of Trafford Council, Greater Manchester, because people felt ‘let down’ over the green belt.

In true-blue Tandridge, Surrey, the Tory council leader Martin Fisher rightly blamed plans to build on the green belt for his majority being slashed from 18 to two, and condemned ‘mixed messages’ coming from Government.

Other seats have also been lost over the issue at both ends of the country.

And that is just for starters. J.R.R. Tolkien described the inhabitants of the Shire, that green and pleasant corner of his Middle-earth, as ‘slow to quarrel’ but ‘doughty at bay’. You could say the same for the people of our own shires and beyond; it takes a lot to anger them but, once roused, they form a formidable force.

And they are stirring. Over a two-week period in Hertfordshire this summer, plans to build on the green belt sparked a shouting match between councillors in St Albans, caused obscenities to be hurled from the normally sedate public seating at Broxborne Borough Council, and inspired a ‘Hands Off’ march in Borehamwood.

In recent months there have been public rows over threats to the green belt from Sunderland to Sevenoaks, Basildon to Burley-in-Wharfedale, Oxford to Oldham, and Worksop to the Wyre Forest. Over the past four years, 96 per cent of the country’s local authorities with green belt land have lost some of it — and there is so much more to come.

At this point, I should add that I live in a green belt which is facing development, and am part of a campaign against it.

This does not affect my views: as an environmental journalist for nearly 50 years, I have been writing in defence of protected countryside for decades. And the last time I recall people reacting like this, ministers had to back down.

Earlier this decade, villages all over England were besieged by speculative developers after the Coalition government tried to introduce planning policies that would have led to a virtual free-for-all.

Conservative voters, and their MPs, reacted so strongly, and repeatedly, that the then planning minister, Nick Boles, described listening to their protests almost daily as a ‘Groundhog Day experience’.

A 50-strong Conservative-led group of backbench MPs got together ‘to defend our precious green belt from developers who are simply looking for a quick profit’.

 

Look on the ground, however, and think again. The green belts are facing the biggest crisis in their history as they are lined up to accommodate nearly 460,000 new homes (file photo)

Within months, then Chancellor George Osborne, and Eric Pickles, the then Communities Secretary — the same heavyweight pair as had been driving the loosening of planning policy — announced that, instead, development would be focused on Britain’s copiously available brownfield land (previously developed for something else but now disused).

Officially that policy still stands, as does the protection of the green belt. But in reality, the latter is being opened up for development by the very councils which, between them, have enough brownfield sites to build 720,000 homes.

Local authorities report that ministers privately bully them to build on the protected land — because that is the preferred option for builders who can build homes more easily on it and charge more because of the location — even as they loudly protest its inviolability.

There might be some excuse for this ministerial duplicity if — as some claim — building on the green belt provided lots of housing that those who need homes could afford.

But, as the CPRE report shows, fewer than 22 per cent of those that have received planning permission are described as ‘affordable’.

Something has to be done for the younger generation — and soon. Twenty years ago it took, on average, about three years to save for a first-time-buyer deposit. Now it takes 19. 

Not surprisingly the number of people in rented accommodation has more than doubled, from 2.3 million to 5.4 million, and growing, since 2000. It is a national scandal.

What is needed is not more big, expensive houses in the countryside, but cheaper smaller, more densely built homes on the abundant brownfield land in the towns and cities where most young people prefer to live anyway, and where the infrastructure to support them exists.

New, cheaper building techniques — including sophisticated prefabrication and even 3-D printing of houses — are being developed, offering increasing opportunities to bring prices down. But most big housebuilders want to go on constructing as many costly homes as possible — slowly enough to keep prices high, so as to maximise profits.

If ministers do not act soon to bring their practice into line with their protective rhetoric, they will find that voters — millions of whom make up the country’s Tory core — will turn against Mrs May for a betrayal that trashes the countryside, while doing nothing to make homes affordable and everything to stuff developers’ already bursting coffers.

Building on the green belt, ministers will learn, means losing at the ballot box.

So, yes, Ms Truss has a point about ‘ending up with Jeremy Corbyn’ — but she seems ignorant of the real reason that could happen.

[AS with so my other matters politicians in general fail to understand what a great many countries elsewhere are now beginning to understand that the most important word which makes all other questions redundant is the prime word for any planning or scheme comes down to

 

NUMBERS

 

WE all know that our infrastructure is not able to cope when you think of the strain on our NHS-ROADS-HOUSING-ENERGY RESOURCES...and the most important factor responsible is uncontrolled IMMIGRATION because we all live in a SMALL ISLAND HOME.  It was stated decades ago the 30,000,000 should be the optimum population given the resources available.

The only way to take effective action is to send the millions who have no wish to INTEGRATE and many others back to their country of origin with a part of our at present wasted and inflated FOREIGN AID. Almost every decision that a politician makes invariably comes back to

NUMBERS.

The present political system stinks because it ignores the

PEOPLE

and in the main they are only concerned with their salary-perks and pension and to hell with the concerns of the common people who want space and beauty about them instead of tearing up the countryside to accommodate the millions of strangers who were drawn to our country for the 'good life' by our exceptional generosity.

We cannot understand why the Labour Party the supposed party of the common man is not tackling the above instead of being more concerned about its links with a foreign power which also has it seems also a POPULATION problem of a different complexion.

Only a united political effort will solve the matters above and time is running out-Let's do it together- and we will solve this seeming intractable problem so that all who live in our country will have the space and beauty of a countryside that also belongs in trust as also our unique Constitution to our future generations.]

THERESA May delighted Eurosceptics yesterday with an ambitious road map for BREXIT. The PM extended the hand of friendship to the EU but threatened to walk away if BRUSSELS tried to impose a punitive deal. Jack DOYLE sets out her 12 objectives and analyses her chances of success.

1. CERTAINTY

 WHAT SHE SAID

We will provide certainty where we can. The same rules and laws will apply on the day after BREXIT, as they did before. And the Government will put the final deal to a vote in both houses of Parliament.

CAN SHE DELIVER

By keeping in place-at least initially-all EU laws, Mrs May will provide a degree of continuity and confidence for business. However, as she freely admits she cannot control the outcome of the negotiations. Parliament is highly likely to approve any deal because the alternative will be a chaotic BREXIT.

Likely to agreed early on, as long as the EU doesn't want to haggle. Last year Mrs May offered to settle on the rights of three million EU nationals in the UK, and 1.2million Brits on the continent in advance of formals talks- but Angela Merkel refused.

YESTERDAY  was a HISTORIC DAY for OUR COUNTRY. BY a RESOUNDING MAJORITY of 384, the COMMONS swept away [our  past 45 years of tutelage within an undemocratic-unaccountable-unbearable-corrupt-expensive- strait-jacket Europe.]

 

THIS was a historic day for our country. At 7.30pm yesterday by a resounding majority of 384, the Commons swept away the last serious obstacle to freeing Britain from the chains that have bound us to an unelected, unaccountable Brussels for 45 YEARS.

True, we can still expect dirty tricks from the 114 who, to their shame, voted  against implementing the

PEOPLE'S WILL.

Of these , this newspaper will not waste ink on cursing SNP members, whose fantasies of SCOTLAND as an independent EU nation state gave them a spurious excuse for defying the UK majority.

AS for the rest, no criticism is too harsh for those Labour MPs who represent solidly Brexiteer constituencies, but voted to

REMAIN.

They deserve everything coming to them at the next election.

So, too, do the creeps who in 2015 backed the call for a binding referendum, but voted last night against implementing its result.

Among these, none can beat the monstrous hypocrisy of

NICK CLEGG

-that flip-flopping representative of the moneyed elite, suckled on the [thirsty] breast of Brussels.

Faced with the possible imposition (illegally) of a E. U. Constitution this  article contemplating our own U.K. Constitution (English Constitution), is especially topical.

Constitutional Principles of Power and Remedy.

The Constitution is specifically intended, indeed designed to limit the powers of the state with respect to the people. The Constitution sets a standard upon which the performance of governance may be measured and contested and to provide remedy if abused.

The whole constitution originates its authority from

COMMON LAW

Supremacy resides in the

LAW and PEOPLE

NOT THE

CROWN or PARLIAMENT.

It is a matter of constitutional principle and legal fact that,

THE LAW IS SUPREME

The rule of law is the antithesis of arbitrary power. Integral with this, is the system of jury trial. It places the power of law enforcement in the

HANDS of the PEOPLE.

This the most vital safeguard against DESPOTISM.

The English Constitution's function is to

PROTECT the

"RIGHTS and LIBERTIES

 of ENGLISHMEN".

These are the 'BIRTHRIGHT' of the PEOPLE'

[In 2016 one can see how successive governments have by gradualism watered down these rights with even attempts to replace jury trial by trial by judge only on the grounds of speed and saving resources. The people in the main have been, amiss in not being vigilant to the protection of THEIR CONSTITUTION. In just a few weeks on the 23 June,2016 they have a choice whether to vote to leave the EU and regain THEIR LAW-THEIR CONSTITUTION-THEIR FREE COUNTRY. or REMAIN in an ALIEN COLLECTIVIST AND CORRUPT UNDEMOCRATIC EU with NO PROTECTION of MAGNA CARTA of 1215 and BILL OF RIGHTS of 1688 and NO ENGLISHMAN'S ' RIGHTS and LIBERTIES' to be passed on to FUTURE GENERATIONS.]

The fundamental rights and liberties are listed in the preamble of the Coronation Oath Act of 1688 which declares that  the oath is taken for the purpose of

" Maintaining our spiritual and civil rights and properties"

It is a contract with the people which makes it the permanent duty of the CROWN, and the CROWN in both GOVERNMENT and PARLIAMENT.

This contracts the Monarch to govern only according to the STATUTE, COMMON LAW, and the CUSTOM and to 'CAUSE LAW and JUSTICE with MERCY to be used in all JUDGEMENTS'.

All power of governance is vested in the CROWN.

The two Houses of Parliament may upon their concurrence offer bills for ROYAL ASSENT.

A BILL is not ENACTED until it has been authorised by the SOVEREIGN POWER.

Whilst the enacting power (a royal prerogative) of Royal Assent is entirely vested with the monarch it is contracted ONLY TO BE USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW.  This is a limitation and essential safeguard to protect the people from any over mighty governance  [such as Tony Blair's and Gordon Brown's NEW LABOUR and since DAVE'S PARTY]

 It was used  to defeat the Divine Right of Kings; a claim of absolute power by the Stuart monarchs.  The OATH ascertains the SUPREMACY of the LAW, not the supremacy of CROWN or of PARLIAMENT.

There is certainly no Divine Right of Politicians.

The Coronation contract is of the Crown owing allegiance to the Constitution. The PEOPLE give ALLEGIANCE to the CROWN.

Here is a system of mutual protection for there is a constitutional interdependence.

The MAGNA CARTA

made provision for the PEOPLE to use ANY MEANS including FORCE if the CROWN is found to be in BREACH.

THE RIGHT OF RESISTANCE IS THE ULTIMATE REMEDY...

That which constitutionally binds the Monarch is a restriction upon Her Majesty, Her Government and all Parliamentary power.  The Monarch may do no wrong, but should she refuse by her negative power( the right to withhold assent) to

'LET WRONG BE DONE.'

[Millions of patriots have been waiting over four decades for:-

'Right to be Done!']

Sir William Blackstone confirms this. Whilst the monarch accepts the advice of ministers, they must only advise to do that which COMPLIES with the CONSTITUTION.  Plainly NO MONARCH is FREE to ASSENT to ADVICE that CONFLICTS with the CONSTITUTION in FORCE.

There is no authority in Parliament to pass any power of governance in England to those who hold or owe no allegiance. [such as the EU]

 There is no constitutional authority for Parliament to deliberately breach the constitutional laws by new   conflicting enactment.

 There is a natural duty resulting from the logic of our constitutional law to debate and resolve conflicts, if necessary by prior repeal.

 We must put an end to this form of 'legal' abuse, particularly through the misapplication of party politics.

 Most but not all of our constitution is written:- the Magna Carta, the Petition of Rights, the Declaration of Rights, the Bill of Rights, the Act of Settlement and the Acts of Union etc. It has evolved over centuries with the expenditure of much blood. It has been abused and corrected many times. It was finally settled by the Glorious Revolution of 1688/9.

The Judicial function is to be the independent arbiter between party and party or party and government under the terms of our constitutional law.  The courts are bound to declare upon the constitutionality of an Act where it may prove to be an action of unconstitutional governance. The great examples of the Magna Carta, the Petition 1628, the Declaration & the Bill of Rights 1688/9 make this duty of the court utterly plain.

Judgement may only be given in accordance with the constraints of constitutional laws in force.  At all times the presumption of law and justice in mercy be upheld and used  in all judgements. This is the trust sand the pre-eminent public policy reposed in the judiciary.

The right of petition to the Monarch is an appeal direct to the source of power, the Monarch is under OATH and at LAW, bound to provide REMEDY. Where there are RIGHTS there are REMEDIES. Politicians and Parliament must abide by the terms of reference and DUTY to the CONSTITUTION.

A fixed and certain standard with protection and remedy are the true purpose of the Constitution.

WE MUST RECLAIM OUR CONSTITUTION AND THE RULE OF LAW FROM THE SUPPOSED DIVINE RIGHT OF OUR POLITICIANS.

The Truth About A Federal Europe -

 

Part I/5

 

1)         Why is the issue of Britain’s role in Europe so important?                                                          

 

Because it presents you with a choice which will affect every aspect of your life and future. In a nutshell: do you want Britain to remain an independent self-governing country, or rather we become a province of a new European state?

 

Do you want to be ruled by your own national parliament at Westminster or do you want to be ruled from Brussels?

2)         Is it true that the European Union involves a sharing rather than a loss of sovereignty?

 

No!  ‘European Union’ implies the transfer of sovereignty and of the right of self – government from the individual nations of the European Community to a new European federal government and parliament.

 

‘Pooling’ sovereignty actually dissolves it, since, in a European State comprising [25 or more nations], Britain could easily be outvoted and overruled by her European partners.  We have already lost control over our agriculture and fishing grounds through the adoption of common European policies in these areas.

 

Do you want this process to be widened to include other parts of our national life [With a New European Constitution]?

3)         Wouldn’t our ability to govern ourselves be safeguarded within a Federal Europe by the European Parliament?

 

No!  However extensive the powers of a democratically elected European Parliament, it would still be the case that British MEPs would be in a minority within it, and therefore unable to prevent the passage of legislation or the introduction of regulations harmful to British interests.

Furthermore, a majority of British voters could elect Tory MEPs, and find themselves ruled by European Socialist Government, or vice versa. Is that what you want?

 

4)         Is movement towards a Federal Europe a real prospect or is the danger exaggerated?

 

Look at the facts. Although the word ‘federal does not appear in the recent (Dec. 1991) Maastricht Treaty, its federalist character is obvious [Today in May 2004 we all are now aware of the Government’s intention to sign the New European Constitution] 

 

The treaty on political, for instance, states that “ By this Treaty, the High Contracting Parties establish among themselves a European Union”.  Since the Concise Oxford Dictionary defines the word ‘unite’ as meaning:  “Join together, make or become one, combine, consolidate, amalgamate”, European Union clearly implies the eventual creation of a European State [ As evidenced today – May 2004 with the New European Constitution]

 

         

         It is, furthermore, particularly

         Significant that the treaty on political      

         Union declares that “ Citizenship of   

         Union is hereby established.  Every 

          Person holding the nationality of a

          Member State shall be a citizen of

         The Union…Union citizen’s resident

          In Member States of which they are

          not nationals will have the right to

          Vote and stand as a candidate at municipal and European elections”.

          Could anything be plainer? What else, other than federalism, is implied by the notion that German residents may vote in British elections, or their Italian equivalents in French elections?  Look, in addition, at what the Maastricht Treaty says about foreign policy:

          “The Union and its Member States shall define and implement a common foreign and security policy” whose objectives shall be “to safeguard the common values, fundamental interests and independence of the European

         Union”.

 

          The language of the Treaty, in other words, describes a new entity, which is clearly intended to be the sum of its parts.

5)         What is there to worry about given the [Conservative] Government’s [1994] opposition to European Federalism?

 

Plenty, Whatever our Government’s policy may be, most of Britain’s European partners are committed to the goal of European federalism and regard the Maastricht treaty as an important further step towards its eventual achievement.  The Maastricht Treaty not only introduces common European citizenship and seeks the development of a common European defence and foreign policy.

 

It also states that common European policies are to be increasingly pursued in a host of fields, including: education, regional development, industry, energy, transport, culture, the environment, research and technology, and overseas aid and development. There is also pressure to develop a common policy on immigration.  But most important of all, the Maastricht Treaty commits the European Community to the creation of a single currency by 1999 [Well we have seen the result –and were we not right to have declined to give up the POUND] 

 

That alone practically guarantees the development of a Federal State, since a single currency implies a single economic and monetary policy, and therefore a common European government.

 

Can Britain remain “ at the heart of Europe”- to use John major’s phrase – without being gradually pushed by these pressures down the road to political union? [Remember it was a Conservative party which put us into Europe in 1972 and who signed the Maastricht Treaty in 1992.]

6)         Isn’t the idea of Britain’s sovereignty outdated since we are affected by international trends we can’t control?

 

It is true that we are affected by such trends and events, but this does not reduce the value of retaining our country’s capacity for independent decision –making. [E.g. Our decision to keep the POUND – which J Delores now applauds –sees our Bulletin Board for details.]

 

The important thing is to preserve our freedom as a nation, to adapt to change according to OUR choices and priorities, rather than being forced to accept the policies and decisions of others.
