FOR THE sad souls who cling to the fast-disappearing hope of that headline ever becoming true, it has been another miserable week.

Facts are stripping away the Eurofanatics’ clothing.

Very soon they will stand covered by nothing more than the jockstrap of their own perverse desire to further erode British sovereignty.

An ICM poll of 1,000 UK companies shows that 52% of chief executives think the European Union is failing;

60 % believe the UK should renegotiate its involvement in the EU to FREE TRADE ONLY; and 54% insist that over-regulation by the EU is outweighing “the benefits” of the SINGLE MARKET.

[We ask how those companies could have been so wrong for so long in being so naïve as to believe that the EU was anything but a Mulch cow which appears to have been seen by many but those in business who couldn’t care a toss about their countries FREEDOM because they thought they were in for a killing. Well they have got their just deserts because of their short-sightedness but unfortunately OUR country is suffering because of their naivety.

We liken the attitude of the business community to the 19^th century clamour among their ranks for PROTECTIONISM so long as they thought it beneficial to trade. Their diehard acceptance of the EU as a safe house for business in 1972 was another example of their shortsightedness]

Additional misery is heaped on the pro-Brussels lobby by figures which reveal that, far from being disadvantaged outside the euro-zone, the UK won more inward investment last year than any other country.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland attracted $165bn from overseas, compared with United State’s 100bn and France’s $40bn.

True a single deal – the restructuring of Royal; Dutch Shell – accounted for almost half our inflow of foreign money.  But even if that transaction were removed, the UK still experienced more than twice as much inward investment as any other EU member.

Gainsayers claim that the gold rush for UK assets is not all good news; venerable British names have ended up in the hands of foreign raiders. We’re selling our heritage, they say.  But hey, what’s the alternative?  When international cash decides that nothing in Britain is worth buying, we have a real problem.  As it is, the world seems to love us.

If anything, keeping the pound has enhanced our desirability.  The idea of ramming Britain into a European super-state via a synthetic currency was flawed on several levels.

Politically, it ran counter to the wishes of the domestic majority; financially, it was underpinned by toilet-paper economics.

That of course, did not prevent European federalists, left wing campaigners and frightfully clever academics from making the case for scrapping STERLING.

In the Dow Jones news story of tree years ago (above), a Brussels-based policy communications consultant, the general secretary of the Fabian Society and a professor from the London School of Economics warned that Britain’s economic performance would be chipped away by shunning the EURO.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Britain’s growth record in recent years has been consistently better than that of the euro-zone’s main players, our unemployment is lower than theirs and, if the rush of immigrants from Eastern Europe is anything to go by, hard- working people can still find jobs here.

Gordon Brown, of course, claims credit for this. Don’t believe him. He’s a one-trick chancellor whose only really good idea – setting free the Bank of England

-continues to mask a multitude of fiscal sins.

Britain prospers (relatively) not because of his obsessive fiddling with taxes, hand-outs and incentives, but because enough of Lady Thatcher’s reforms remain in tact and we are free from the SINGLE CURRENCY

- chains that bind WEAK economies to the STRONG, often to their MUTUAL DETRIMENT.

Deciding against euro membership was , I suppose, a plus on Brown’s score card, but I refuse to give him much credit , because it was the economic equivalent of opting for fish’n’chips instead of RAT POISON: a no-brainer.

When Brown meets City bigwigs today, he will, doubtless make all the right noises about helping to maintain the Square Mile as a leading financial centre.

Brown transmits well, but is hopeless on receive. Worse still he’s a recidivist. His diatribes are like listening to a serial shoplifter talk about all the good work he does for local retailers.  He can’t pass wind without wanting to tax it.

Only last week, the CBI warned that the rising tax burden on British companies is such that we risk an exodus of multi-national employers from the UK.

Brown and his boffins shake their heads, even though the CBI says it can identify a cumulative increase of £59bn in business taxes since 1997.

[Well for some years now it has been a  well-known fact that the Chancellor needs to bring UK taxes up to the level of Germany and France and others in the EU in order to fit in with the EU’s average if not above.]

Which brings me back to Europe [EU]? Because it’s their objection to the crushing cost of doing business in the EU rather than any philosophical or political revulsion, that is prompting many British bosses to cry “enough”

[Well they are true to form anyway –they would sell their country to further their business so we won’t cry about their self induced problems after all it was the CBI in 1972 who aided the Traitor Edward Heath to deceive the British people at the time into a supposed EEC with no threat to our sovereignty.

In 2003 Mr Heath while attending a supposed music festival in Salzburg was told by his Nazi controllers that British Intelligence knew he had been a Nazi traitor for over 60 years. Since his school days in Balliol College Oxford with his fellow ring of spies which included Geoffrey Rippon and Roy Jenkins .  It was the master of Balliol –A.D.Lindsay who reported them to MI5.

On being told the grievous news he literally ‘blew a fuse’ he suffered a pulmonary embolism and after a long illness he died last year (2005) and in his will he had asked to have a burial service in Salisbury cathedral – which Tony Blair agreed  -  opposite his medieval house for which he left £5,000,000 for the upkeep of the property.

Amongst those attending the burial service were members of German (Nazi) DVD continuing intelligence service, based at Dachau the area of the 2rd World War concentration camp - near Munich.

He sold us out in 1972 to the then named EEC but as insiders knew at the time it was only a front for the

UNITED STATES OF EUROPE.

The ironical twist in the situation of the presence of Britain in the EU was warned about in 1996 –particularly the matter of the Single Currency which was outlined in Peter Jay’s brilliant - remarkable and erudite article which we have outlined on our bulletin board

Regulation is sprouting in Brussels. YET, as Next’s Simon Wolfson points out, “it doesn’t seem to be doing businesses, employees [except EC wasters] or consumers much good”

[Well isn’t this another example of how naïve normally intelligent businessmen failed to anticipate the EU pattern of increased regulation   over the past 40 years.]

No less an authority than the EU’s enterprise commissioner, Gunther Verheugen, admits that the cost to business of EU legislation is running at £400 bn a year.

This is serious money. A massive deterrent to investment. We are self-asphyxiating with red tape, produced by useless European Commissioners –

The likes of Neil Kinnock –who, if not luxuriating in Brussels, would be unemployable.

For companies on the margin of viability, the cost of EU compliance can sometimes mean a difference between success or failure.

So what David Cameron next says the Conservative Party must start talking about the things that voters care about, instead of

 “banging on about Europe”,

He would do well to understand that, while he and his metropolitan clique are showboating on climate change, British jobs are being choked to death by toxic emissions from Brussels

(Sound reasons to reject the euro and the EU.)

Could England survive outside the EU?

YES-Very well, thank you.

[Please be aware that the statistical information was compiled in 2002 and if anything the reasons for leaving are supported by more damning evidence as detailed above]

‘There has for years now been a cynical and ruthless propaganda campaign top persuade us that ENGLAND

-has no future outside Europe.  This is nonsence. For example, take Switzerland [see latest 2006 details on EDP frontpage ]  They ignored the encouragement of their Government and voted against joining the EU.  But they have negotiated for themselves an excellent trade agreement – thereby putting a LIE to the utterly false claim that no European country can possibly survive unless it becomes part of the EU

[Or United States of Europe]

The Europhiles constantly argue that ENGLAND

- would be ruined if she left Europe.

Oh, what porkies these people do tell.

As The Economist said recently (2002): ‘…the idea that leaving (the EU) would be economic suicide’ is nonsence.’

Examine what would happen if England pulled up the Tunnel and stopped paying subs to the big EU in Brussels:

1.                       The EU would impose its external tariff on English exports to Europe.  This would make very little difference to English companies –

most of whose exports go outside Europe anyway.  The World Trade Organisation restricts the EU to an external tariff of around six per cent so the effect would , in any case , be quite small. (England would almost certainly be able to negotiate for itself a smaller tariff – in the same way that Switzerland has. This would drive down the COST of LEAVING the EU still FURTHER.

2.                       If outside the EU, England would, inevitably, be outside the EURO.  There would be an exchange rate between the pound and the euro. In the long run this could well be to England’s advantage.

3.                       The external tariff on England’s imports from outside the EU would disappear. England would probably gain more from this than it would lose from the imposition of a tariff on English exports to Europe.

4.                       An England outside the EU would be able to make special deals with other countries – such as those in the Commonwealth.  This could be hugely advantageous.

5.                       Europhiles claim that if England left the EU then countries from outside Europe (such as Japan and America) would invest less.  This is nonsence. England attracts more outside investment (as in 2006) known to economists as ‘Foreign Direct Investment’) than any other European countries because its labour market still relatively unregulated.

If it was outside the EU, England could take advantage of its independence to reduce the number of regulations limiting foreign companies. EU regulations are already regarded as a minefield. Just ask some of the foreign companies who have had eurocrats leaping up and down all over them.  Many jump at the chance to invest in a less regulated part of Europe.

Finally, even if FDI did fall, England would not necessarily lose, since in an often irrational attempt to encourage foreign businesses (at the expence of English businesses) the English Government subsidised outside investment may well not make money for the country!

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE ENGLISH STAND TO LOSE NOTHING BY LEAVING THE EU.

If England left the EU it would leave behind an incompetent and power –hungry bureaucracy which has consistently FAILED.

If we left the EU they would not be able to do anything in revenge. Remember, we have a trade deficit with the EU. (For example, we have a trade deficit of over £3 billion a year  with Germany alone in (2003) – [much greater today in 2006].

THE EU COUNTRIES NEED OUR TRADE

[Remember they are doing us no favours and they desperately need us to remain in the EU or the extra burden on Germany France and other net contributors would cause the collapse of the whole corrupt wasteful baggage. 

You will notice in 2006 that the parasites in Brussels will do anything to try to convince the English  that the European Union is a great idea by always showing how the co-operation of the EU member states brings so many so-called benefits .  The truth is that there is nothing of possible value which could not be achieved outside the  expensive corrupt unaccountable police state which is still striving to become the

United States of Europe.]

English politicians have supported the EU, LIED and DECEIVED the English voters and signed away

RIGHTS and FREEDOMS.

They often did this claiming they wanted England to have influence in Europe.

This is nonsence.

England has far less influence in Europe than it had ten, twenty or thirty years ago.

Politicians have sold out the voters to gain personal political influence.

England, and the English, have gained NOTHING from membership of the EU. But membership has cost a great deal.

England would survive well outside the EU.

The people of Norway and Switzerland have voted against joining the EU –

 And have thrived. Greenland, once in the EU, escaped and has prospered since getting out.  If they can do it so can England.

England would survive well outside the EU.  It would be richer and more powerful. And its citizens would regain their lost independence.

England’s trade is in surplus with every state in the world except the EU.  If England left the EU it could regain power over its legal system, armed forces, and agricultural prices.  Hundreds of thousands of small businesses would be saved from suffocating bureaucracy.

England is the world’s leading business language. English dominates the internet. Our language means we can trade with any other country in the world.

Tony Blair won’t tell you this but England would be much richer if it left the EU.

WE WOULD SAVE A FORTUNE.

And be FREE of  30,000 rules (2002) and at the last count in 2006 –over 50,000 rules –possibly much  higher.

The only people who would lose would be the politicians for whom the English stage is too small.

WE CAN STILL LEAVE THE EU.
