Over the last five years in our Christmas messages we have we believe covered in depth the subject of the dangers to our Ancient Constitution and once Free Democratic Country.  In  2008 we had the signing of the LISBON TREATY by HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN -COMMONS and LORDS and to rub it in even further the indecent haste with which Gordon Brown went to Lisbon to sign the TREATY of TREASON  -and HE who had neither been elected as Prime Minister or even leader of his party and with his home country only a few years from INDEPENDENCE - what right had HE to decide the fate of the ENGLISH PEOPLE.  It would have been HIGH TREASON for a ENGLISHMAN to have done such a despicable act but it is  adding insult to injury that a SCOTSMAN should feel that he has any right to take away the accustomed 'RIGHTS and LIBERTIES of ENGLISHMEN when HIS own countrymen are so passionate about their own Liberty which as history of Scotland clearly states:

'We fight not for glory

nor for wealth nor for honour

but for that FREEDOM which no good man will surrender

but with his life.

So to hear what lengths HE and his HOME SECRETARY  and others are prepared to openly desecrate the ancient hallowed Chamber of the once FREE ENGLISH PEOPLE the foundation of which is of immemorial time, while in its dying moments of LIBERTY , is itself treated with such contempt is a matter which history will harshly condemn.

We have in our Christmas messages since 2003 stated our HOPES and FEARS of which the latter have been VINDICATED by events by the TREASON WITHIN which culminated with the traitorous actions of the majority of so-called HONOURABLE members of PARLIAMENT and of the avowed PROTECTOR of our CONSTITUTION and COUNTRY.

With the Lisbon Treaty still not ratified by Ireland and should HER people stand firm then a NEW EU TREATY will have to be forced on the People sometime in 2009.   This will be an opportunity for HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN to do what HER OATH at HER CORONATION permitted HER to do and that was to PROTECT HER PEOPLE and COUNTRY from a FOREIGN POWER.

No 1- WHY WE ARE BETTER OUT

[Of course whatever the so-called advantages of being in the Euro the main issue is not economic but political. It is a question of remaining an INDEPENDENT NATION STATE.

There are fears that Gordon Brown who now has an unlimited treasure chest to dip into will decide to ditch the pound and join the Euro.  At least with having our POUND we can still recover if the EU went into freefall without it we would go down with the rest.  It has been known for many years that there are many in France -Italy and even Germany who are anxious to return to their own currencies and in two of these countries they still use their own currencies though surreptitiously.]

AT LEAST 50 per cent of all legislation in Britain originates in Brussels which is WHY ministers constantly claim that they can't cut RED TAPE, because EUROPEAN LAW wouldn't permit it.

So it's strange that they still want to sign up to the EU Constitution - after IRELAND has been PERSUADED to CHANGE ITS MIND and GIVE IT THE GO-AHEAD. After all the CONSTITUTION gives up the BRITISH VETO in 61 AREAS of NEW LEGISLATION, in all of which we would LOSE THE RIGHT TO SAY 'NO' to NEW COSTS being IMPOSED BY BRUSSELS.

DECISIONS announced in the Pre-Budget will DOUBLE BRITAIN'S NATIONAL DEBT over the coming years, which is WHY THE POUND HAS BEEN FALLING IN VALUE.

[Of course Mr Meddlesome after his no doubt clandestine meeting with the EU COMMISSION  President Barraso will not admit that this is the case and he is well placed as Business Secretary to Gordon Brown to mortgage the British taxpayer up to the hilt in order as is usual with New Labour to make the  MEANS fit the ENDS. They are masters on this subject and that is WHY our brave troops are dying in Iraq because it suited Tony Bliar to keep in with his buddy George across the divide. That it was an ILLEGAL WAR mattered not.  Many of the severe problems we face in our country are and after the latest QUEEN' SPEECH will see our country's once high reputation in financial matters turn our economy into a third world banana state fruitcake.  Taxpayers today and in the future will be paying back for years because Gordon Brown has made himself Santa with his new reindeer handler Alastair Darling on gigantic give-aways, whereas a more prudent team would have keep something in its larder for hard times ahead.  Giving help to householders if the recipients are in need is one thing but to discourage the feeling of individual responsibility and tightening of belts NOW! will result in the MISERY to  last for years to come.

IT'S YOUR MONEY BROWN IS DISHING OUT AND AS FAR AS HE IS CONCERNED SPEND BIG TODAY AND MAYBE HE WILL REMAIN PRIME MINISTER FOR AS LONG AS YOUR MONEY LASTS.

The bankers and others who got us into the present mess have over the past year taken out bonuses of

£35 BILLION

On  the  BBC2 News Night programme this evening we heard from the adviser to Barrack Obama who gave us a solution to our problem. He mentioned that it is now necessary for the central banks to lend direct to the customer particularly businesses. It is said that the banks have their own agenda (as always) to rebuild their reserves and damn the inconvenience of lending any more money until they have achieved their object.

The adviser to the President also mentioned that it was the obvious time to be building up our public works -power stations-roads-bridges and whatever which will come on stream as we leave the recession behind. These capital projects will then add to the country's infrastructure the extra tools to help us regain again a healthy economy.

The adviser also mentioned the need for a floating currency to alight us with the compliments of the central banks in order that the spending habit is renewed as quickly as possible.

One of the guests on the programme made a timely comment which must be in the minds of almost everyone affected by the criminal actions of those greedy banks and their associates who we now hear had taken home this year in bonuses the sum of

£35 BILLION

We feel as no doubt many others that the greedy banks have got off scot free with destroying the lives of millions and as they say

CRIME MUST NOT PAY

Means should be taken to retrieve ALL the bonuses taken by the bankers and others in order that the reputation of the banking world is  finally redeemed.  Without this reimbursement the  banking industry will be unable to draw the line under the catastrophic con-trick which finally landed on the customers of banks who have been told by them that they must be PRUDENT and so long as they already had enough money in the bank they would lend to you.  It appears that the banks had one rule for their customers and another for themselves.

In order to make it easy for those in receipt of the £35Billion  they can get to the top of their skyscrapers and throw the money down onto the people they swindled.  We would appreciate an Email if one of the benevolent moneydrops happens to  be in our area - preferably before CHRISTMAS -2008.

European Court of Human Rights.

As one of a dwindling band of believers in democracy, the least worst system of government yet devised by man. I'm appalled that so many of our laws are made by unelected

FOREIGN JUDGES

so alien to our

WAY OF LIFE

that many of us have difficulty even pronouncing their names.

FOR ALL I KNOW

Bostjan Zupancic, Mirjana lazarova Trajkovska, Zdravka Kalaydjieva and their fellow judges may be frightfully good chaps (or chapesses -don't ask me which). BUT I don't see what earthly business it is of these Slovenians, Macedonians and Bulgarians to lay down rules under which you and I should lead our lives.

If we want absolute, unchangeable laws - applicable to every human being everywhere, without regard to their wishes, national traditions or changing circumstances -then let GOD lay them down, say I, and leave it to US to DECIDE whether or not WE OBEY HIM.

For the rest, I like to feel I have some sort of say in the way I'm governed - even if that means having to submit to a shower of incompetent control freaks like

NEW LABOUR

(though, come to think of it, I can't remember anyone asking me if I wanted to be governed by a party led by GORDON BROWN. . .

NOWHERE is this CREEPING EROSION of OUR LIBERTIES more INSIDIOUS than in the POLICE PRACTICE now so roundly CONDEMNED by the ECHR as a BREACH of HUMAN RIGHTS - of collecting and keeping DNA samples from those who have NEVER been CONVICTED of a CRIMINAL OFFENCE.

[It has for many years now been our considered opinion that the demise of the BOBBIE-ON-THE-BEAT has opened the community to the increased CRIME WAVE.  With a police officer in each locality-known by the people as their Bobbie there is a bond between the citizen and their fellow citizen the police officer who is the intermediary between the Government and the FREE CITIZEN.   As is usual NEW LABOUR took the BOBBIE off the streets and replaced them by CCTV cameras and looked on everyone as a wrongdoer.  They lost the TRUST of the PEOPLE and COMMUNITIES.  They also decided NOT TO BUILD PRISONS but instead have a soft approach to CRIME and as to the rights of the VICTIM they were ignored and even found THEMSELVES in PRISON when their were over 100.000 criminals who were told THERE WAS NO PLACE FOR THEM.  Many persistent criminals were very angry that they couldn't get back to see their mates and others who were sent to OPEN PRISONS decided to use the opportunity offered by the Prison's apt description to wonder in or out at their own accord.   WE have recently had a replacement Lord Chief Justice appears very different to his predecessor in that he believes THE PUNISHMENT should FIT THE CRIME and the protection of the VICTIM instead of as has been usual the CRIMINAL.  BUT all appears to have gone very QUIET of late -we hope it has not been a case of a sudden abjuration which will be quietly shelved-WE WILL HAVE TO SEE.

COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY-CAP

We need a Glorious Revolution again in the 21st century to address the mistakes of the past.

For the past decades it has been a steady degeneration in our once respected Parliament and has now become a virtually closed club to the millions of voters in the country.

In the 17th century when a much improved democracy was introduced it had many defects and virtues some of the former were seen by our cousins across the see in Virginia and New England.  While our system of conventions and checks and balances and on the whole the disinterested nature of our politicians the voters were assured that their voices would be heard.

In 2008 we can now see that all has changed and what had been the accustomed manner of our parliamentary democracy has now been replaced by a virtual dictatorship.  We have on a number of occasions said that the system should be changed in order to allow any citizen of our country who wishes to serve their country to give up to five years in order to become a member of parliament.  There will still be a party system and each party will of course decide their candidature on the merits of a disinterested applicant from whatever occupation.  The benefit of such as system would be that each MP would be his own man and would not have to fear the action of a Whip as they could not be threatened with de-selection at the next election-having ONLY ONE TERM TO RUN.

In order for the greatest benefit to occur there will need to be

 PR PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION

which will ensure that

EVERY VOTE COUNTS

At present the House of Commons has few men of the calibre of disinterestedness and honourable conduct.  It is because of this fact and that we do not have the above suggested electoral system in place that we have in the past found that our very FREEDOM and LIBERTY and COUNTRY have been SOLD to a FOREIGN POWER. The EU treaties would not have seen the light of day as the Human Rights Act and the Convention of Human Rights.   We are the premier country in the world with parliamentary democracy and we already have the framework to introduce selectively any Human Rights or any other RIGHTS as is and was our custom.   The IRAQ WAR would never have been permitted and possibly neither would the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE in Afghanistan.  The majority of MPs are only doing whatever is necessary in order to retain THEIR SEATS and THEIR overpaid salaries and expenses and of course THEIR

 GOLD-PLATED PENSIONS.

IT IS TIME FOE A CHANGE

to give everyone

AN OPPORTUNITY to SERVE THEIR COUNTRY.

WHY DON'T WE DO IT?

THIS IS THE SEASON when we celebrate a BABY and his MOTHER.  Nutty vicars may tell us we can't sing

because it's no longer relevant to life in

JESUS'S BIRTHPLACE

but the Madonna and Child remains one of the most moving images ever created. Mary cradling her newborn son is the logo of love without end.

You need faith to believe in

CHRIST

 but anyone can place hope in the power of a mother's love.

Faith in motherhood took a bit of a battering in 2008. every time you picked up a paper there was yet another story about a negligent harpy who was doing something unspeakable to her kids. just this week, a mother was cautioned by police for injuring a toddle while drunk in charge of a buggy. And they're not easy to manoeuvre even while sober.

Another mum seemed to embody the grotesque vanity and selfishness of the age when she sold her baby twins for £9,000 to pay for liposuction.

Get rid of the fat, get rid of the kids; it was all the same to her

Back at the start of the year, there was Anne Darwin who cruelly conned her two sons into believing that their father had died in a canoeing accident.. Then there was Joanne Hill, jailed for life for drowning her disabled daughter Naomi ,aged four , in the bath because she was ashamed of her child's illness.

If there you thought that was hard to match for barbarity then you hadn't reckoned on the mum of Baby P who spent hours exchanging flirty banter in internet chatrooms while her boyfriend used her little son as a punchbag.

Karen Mathews displayed a similarly devastating lack of maternal concern. Police wanted Karen to see kidnapped Shannon as soon as she was found, but the family liaison officer says Karen insisted on stopping at a sandwich shop because she was hungry. 'I had to hide my disgust,' recalls DC Christine Freeman.

Disgust is the correct reaction. If we judge mothers harshly as a society then perhaps it's because instinctively we know what lifelong damage a bad parent can do. A social worker predicted thaty Matthews was a problem because she was 'unable to put her children's needs above her own'.

When I heard that, I thought of the millions of mums who don't make the headlines. The ones who put their own needs last and get precious little credit for it. AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, it is the  lesser-known Mother Christmas who slaves to create magical memories FOR HER FAMILY.

She will buy all the presents, resourcefully make the budget stretch so each child will be delighted on December 25.

AND WHO GETS THE CREDIT?

 ONE TRULY OUTSTANDING MOTHER OF THE YEAR.

She's not a celebrity. I know that whatever fame she has she would give back in an instant because of the agonising way it came to her

Melanie Jones, 42, was a mum of two in Croxteth , Liverpool, waiting for her 11-year-old to get home from football training.

Then she got the call saying Rhys had been shot.

Moments later, Melanie was in the pub carpark. One eye witness described the way Mrs Jones knelt on the floor, her trousers soaked in blood. Cradling her boy in her arms, she kept saying:

Melanie spoke for all those mothers who had reared their young with love and care, only to see them threatened or destroyed by kids who had neither of those.

NO POLITICIAN HAS EVER BEEN SO BRAVE OR DARED TO SAY SO MUCH.

Melanie Jones and millions of mums like her are holding the line for the ordinary strengths and virtues that have underpinned family life for centuries, but which are all too often overlooked or taken for granted by a STATE that THINKS IT KNOWS BEST

WHY IS THE STATE SO UTTERLY INCOMPETENT?

After those public sector fiascos, a leading historian says we have too many civil servants.

BY ANY reckoning it is an astonishing error. Thanks to a simple accounting glitch, public sector pensions have been overpaid to the tune of

£125 MILLION

with up to 5per cent of all public sector pensioners - among them thousands of former teachers, NHS staff, and Armed Service members -affected.

Yet  despite the astonishing scale of the losses, the blunder has for years gone undetected or overlooked by the army of civil servants and bureaucrats whose job it was to administer PUBLIC PENSIONS

HOW ASTONISHING

But of course, more depressing than the fiasco itself was the fact that none of us was really surprised by it. Exasperated, maybe , but not surprised.  For most of us have come to realise by now that we are living in a country which has sunk to the position where MISTAKES on this SCALE appear to HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.

Indeed, on the very same day that the news of the PENSIONS BLUNDER, we read of WHAT HAPPENED when WHITEHALL bureaucrats decided to have an 'EFFICIENCY DRIVE' at the DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT.  A NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM was INTRODUCED that was SUPPOSEDLY going to SAVE £57 million in ADMINISTRATION.

But now it has been MADE CLEAR that the IT SYSTEM far from saving money ,will end up

COSTING THE TAXPAYER OVER £81 MILLION.

DAMNING

The chairman of the Public Accounts committee Edward Leigh MP said: 'This is one of the worst cases of project management seen by this committee.'

HE'S CERTAINLY GOT PLENTY TO COMPARE IT WITH

For the story broke at the very moment when Lord Sutherland was offering his damning indictment on another catastrophe - last Summer's SATs fiasco in which the Department of Education, having farmed out responsibility for the SATs tests to a private company, failed to keep a proper watch over its procedures, resulting in many pupils not being marked at all and others receiving their results as late as September.

My point is that in just 24HOURS

three separate incidents have highlighted

THE UTTER INCOMPETENCE

that underpins so much of our public administration today.

For a historian such as myself such chronic mismanagement is especially dispiriting.

For things were not always as bad as this in Britain. the Victorians, who invented so many good things, in effect invented the

MODERN CIVIL SERVICE

It worked extremely well, from the time when Stafford Northcote and Charles Trevelyan, in 1854, drew up the present system of exams for senior branches of the SERVICE, and worked out how civil servants could help the country be

RUN EFFICIENTLY.

At the same time, the Indian Civil Service was born. it administered that vast sub-continent, from 1858 until 1947,

 WITH GREAT SUCCESS

-yet at no time did it number more than

1,200 EMPLOYEES

Here , surely is one very simple indicator of the reason why the Victorian administration -not only of our own country

BUT OF HALF THE REST OF THE WORLD.

-was so much more efficient than our system today....

Gambling

If the men and women who instituted the wasteful computer system in Swansea had thought they would have been personally penalised if the project failed to work, do you think they would have been careless?

OF COURSE NOT

but because it was our money they were gambling with

THEY DID NOT CARE....

YET in many instances, far from being penalised, those who fail in their PUBIC DUTY end up being PAID OFF with handsome severance deals and their GOLD-PLATED PENSIONS INTACT. The result is the total LOSS of ACCOUNTABILITY. MISTAKES ARE NOBODY'S FAULT because there is always someone else TO BLAME.-another DEPARTMENT-another QUANGO -another TIER of BUREAUCRACY.

[Well as we all know it appears the role of many bureaucrats to protect each other's back and that means turning a blind eye to problems in case they themselves need cover. It is a variant on the

'Do as you would be done by'

and the 'charitable act ' is paid for by the general taxpayer.

There is a apt saying 'one cannot see the wood for the trees'

Well with so many disasters one after the other it gives cover to those who could be next in line. After all if you don't lay down the firm rules at the beginning it becomes a contractors dream and we all know how much mischievous dreaming unfortunately enacted in New Labour these past ten years. And one word describes their record of waste and incompetence.

Once clean and well run hospitals are riddled with filth; pupils can not trust the system to administer their exams; civil servants waste millions of pounds of our money on inefficient computer systems.

WE NEED more than just a few token sackings. We need a great cleansing of the Augean stables.

WE NEED a government that will not go on wasting our money on useless administrators and that will free us from the shackles of the BUREAUCRATS.

THE ALTERNATIVE

IS A SLOW SINKING IN THE MIRE

[The GOVERNMENT has TOO MUCH MONEY at its disposal EACH YEAR. It is a larger version of the LOTTERY FUND fund with massive waste of public money on the usual politically correct and collectivist agenda. We advocated some time ago that the STATE should only be permitted a set sum of SPENDING POWER each year and must manage just as every family in the land has to manage their financial affairs in order to get by on the limited income available.  GOVERNMENTS must be restricted to a BUDGET which covers the BASIC NEEDS needs of the NATION which would mean that they would be MORE ACCOUNTABLE  to the TAXPAYER.   WHAT HAS HAPPENED is that because there is NO LIMIT significant FUNDS are allocated to areas of political activity -in plain words bribing the VOTERS which  should NOT BE FUNDED by the GENERAL TAXPAYER.  In order to monitor the SPENDING an INDEPENDENT SELECT COMMITTEE of the HOUSE with similar POWERS as the NAO would not allow a GOVERNMENT to exceed THEIR BUDGET unless it was a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY or DISASTER.   AT PRESENT billions are wasted every year on insane and sinister projects because the GOVERNMENT does not need to keep to an imposed YEARLY BUDGET. THEY throw around the TAXPAYERS hard pressed earnings as if tomorrow will never come.

THE PROBLEM in a nutshell is OVER GOVERNMENT.]

SO NOW WE KNOW- THERE WILL BE A GENERAL ELECTION IN 2009

HOW DO WE KNOW? because there have been a number of U-turns and apologises of late by Government ministers such as Jack Straw and Jacqui Smith and others who have no doubt been told by 'their leader' Gordon Brown - go through your stables and clear out those items which stink too much so that there are less sticky problems to handle at the Hustings. After all there is no effective Opposition Party to have to worry about and after all they HAVE THE MONEY.

WHY NOW? because the economy will really be biting the electorate after they close up their Bonanza Give-away later next year and while they temporarily blunt  the recession for a few month's they know they cannot keep their 'we never closed' bank open for much longer as even they have their masters in Germany to obey.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO! In order to reclaim our TRUE DEMOCRACY it is necessary for voters to place their votes with the smaller parties and ignore the present occupants in Westminster.  There will of course be a few exceptions of honourable members who do not fit the arrogant and self-interested disloyal bunch of traitors who have  Sold our CONSTITUTION and COUNTRY to a FOREIGN POWER -they should be supported .

For democracy to work it is necessary that EVERY VOTE SHOULD COUNT. Under the FPTP [First past the Post] the issues of millions of voters are ignored particularly when it is connected with our being part of the corrupt, unaccountable sovietised collective calling itself the UNITED STATES OF EUROPE.

WE SHOULD MAKE the year 2009 the year when the voter once again became the master and not the SLAVE of the Government of the day which has been so for many decades. By voting for the smaller parties you will be showing your anger of the actions of the majority of YOUR REPRESENTATIVES who feel that they have a job for life on a nice little earner and a gold-plated pension -so they won't suffer from the present recession. We need to give then a SHOCK that they will remember by putting them back on the streets to share the hardship which is the result of their own actions.

AS WE ALL KNOW we are now a NATION DIVIDED into those who are fortunate to be in the PUBLIC SECTOR and those who will have a fight to hold their jobs are in the PRIVATE SECTOR.  It will be in the former that they will weather the storm and even some will go on strike to deny essential services until their demands are met.  It is the general taxpayer that has to foot the bill and therefore the pain of the recession which could become a DEPRESSION should be shared by ALL.

Our present crisis has been compared to a WAR emergency and that is how it should be.  Nobody should think they are privileged individuals. All must stand in line as our national characteristic manner of queuing has demonstrated.

OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS we have persistently argued for the electoral system to be changed to PR PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION under which system EVERY VOTE WILL COUNT. The present system showed its weakness by the main parties refusing to listen and defend the millions of people in our country who did not and do not wish to be part of the EU.  The so-called  Conservative party which as its name implies has been ALL BUT conservative when it came to preserving our INDEPENDENCE as an INDEPENDENT NATION STATE- saving our FISHING GROUNDS and FISHING INDUSTRY and refusing to support the COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY-CAP which now costs every family in the land £40-£60 in increased food bills.

SINCE  THEY SIGNED the TREATY of ROME in in January 1973 the Conservative Party has signed every EU TREATY put before it  even when signatories of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992 Douglas Hurd after signing the treaty was overheard saying to hiss colleague Francis Maud-

'We'd better find out what we have just signed'

The signing of the Maastricht Treaty was the OPEN DOOR to the LISBON TREATY.

AT THIS TIME OF CRISIS the GOVERNMENT is spending BILLIONS on EU PROJECTS which are draining the life-blood of our ECONOMY.  If there was a time when the exposure of the fault lines in the EU would be opened it is NOW! 

Many might say that they wish to be part of a EUROPEAN UNION

but fail to realise as the Irish people have done that though they have obtained billions from the EU in the past ,  they  had at the eleventh hour having  pulled back to protect that which money cannot buy-PRINCIPLE and ACCOUNTABILITY and  rather than follow their EU inspired politicians decided to put their own horse in the race to win those prizes which the LISBON TREATY nag was doing its best to DESTROY.  We now hear that the EU as usual when things don't quite go their way have decided to COMPROMISE  and now feel confident they now have the Irish on side. Whatever safeguards are put in place it would not be long before the so-called 'redlines' are conveniently forgotten. 

WE HOPE  as do tens of millions of troubled voters throughout the EU that the IRISH VOTER stands firm for ALL their their OBJECTIVES particularly for a more DEMOCRATIC and ACCOUNTABLE EU which unfortunately is not in the nature of the BEAST as in its attempt to do so it would reveal the deep corruption on which the EU feeds and as with the HEDGE FUND SCANDAL  it is a PYRAMID OF EVIL which can only last as long as EVERYONE GETS THEIR SHARE but when all its weak points are revealed it will collapse LIKE A PACK OF CARDS.

NOW! WE KNOW HOW THE EU OPT- OUTS ARE COP -OUTS!

The Irish voter can now see how trustworthy the EU is to 'opt-outs' or 'red lines' with the decision of the EU parliament to insist on our 40 hr week. 

To show how out-of touch with reality they have dropped their bombshell at a time when many family members will lose their jobs and their partner in work who wants to work longer to enable the cushion the family from the worst aspects of the recession soon no doubt a DEPRESSION will be prevented from doing so.

Of course there should be a minimum to hours worked but those who wish to work longer should NOT be prevented from doing so.

Many businesses which will have to have redundancies will in many cases still need those who are still working to work extra hours should the work be there and they are willing to do so.

We have of late again been assured by the EU that the pint and mile remains and local authorities have been told to be less aggressive if traders only sell in imperial weights. BUT as soon as the LISBON TREATY has been ratified by all member states  you will soon see how safe are the so-called 'opt-outs.'

What the eurozone doesn't like is that our Island with its Sterling currency and our less restricted monetary policy should be able to threaten their protective policy at a time when the eurozone is heading for free-fall because of its one-currency fits ALL

We have on many occasions mentioned the

 COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY-CAP

which we now have been informed is costing each family in the land 

£40-£60 per week.

How we could ALL do with this reduction TODAY.

Unfortunately this bribe to the French Government and its farmers will stay in place as it has been demonstrated by the so-called deal that Tony Blair concluded in exchange for handing back the EU REBATE that Margaret Thatcher obtained by HER determination to see that

JUSTICE BE DONE.

We have kept our side of the bargain but the French have decided that their needs are more pressing and anyway what can the islanders DO!

What is forgotten is that  the

THIRD WORLD

would be helped by enabling them to sell their lower priced goods to markets which they are denied or restricted. They would be better off and so would every family here.  But the fat-cats - those large land owners throughout the EU - MONARCHS - POLITICIANS-BUSINESSES and others of whom many are receiving over

 £250,000 a year

while the small landowner gets a pittance or NOTHING!.

We are now in a position to understand something of the leading traits in the long, and in a way strange, history of this country and its people. For there is something strange  in the fate of the small island which, for so long on the outer fringe of the civilized world and held down by an alien governing class, has come to play in the end such an extraordinary part in world history.

Perhaps it is well that on the whole English people have been unconscious of the strangeness of their country's fate. It might have given them a sense of strain, the kind of inner tension which the Germans live under and which is the clue to much of their unhappy history.  In fact, there is no such strain with the English; they are an easy-going, kindly, tolerant folk: one can see something in them still of the same characteristics that exposed the Anglo-Saxons to the ruthless Normans.  They have an instinctive sense of moderation, which one can observe in their history, and that perhaps has been their preservation, a clue to their success.  There is a very common proverb on the lips of ordinary English people,

'Live and let Live'

which astonishingly expresses the spirit of their history when you reflect on it.  It is only at times and in places where they have departed from it that they have come upon disaster, with the American Colonies , in Ireland.  But defeat itself was chastening and they learned to make concessions.  The learned from the loss of the First Empire to concede self-government to colonies which had grown up to maturity.   The governing class at home learned to make concessions to other classes as they grew in strength and sense of responsibility and demanded a share of the power.  And so, in spite of the unparalleled strain of the Industrial Revolution upon the people who first experienced it -and that in the course of a century which saw frequent outbreaks of revolution elsewhere -there was no revolution in this country, but a consistent evolution of self-government.

WE owe much of the good fortune of our later history to our insularity, which has imposed a between us and the shocks and impacts of great movements, whether military or social, coming from abroad. That has given us a chance in some measure to absorb them, to mold them to our own purposes, to work out our own solution of them in comparative peace and quietness.  And so, in the fullness of time, after an apprenticeship to foreign influences, a course of preparation longer that that of any other European country, we have come since the Reformation to have some contribution of our own to offer to civilisation in return for the immense debt which we owe, above all, to the Latin world.   From that time it has been an expanding contribution until it reached full flower in the modern period, with the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.  No one can question its creative richness, vigor, variety - whether in political institutions or ideas, philosophical and religious toleration, personal freedom, in maritime and military achievement, in the realm of commerce and finance, in discovery and colonization,; or in literature, science, the arts.

The long record of English history has been fortunate beyond belief: the greater the duty that rests upon every Englishman to see that the future is not unworthy of the past.

Unless the English arise from their slumber and start to take notice as to what is happening under their very eyes to their accustomed 'Rights and Liberties of Englishmen' which have been destroyed by the majority of their supposed representative in Westminster and act more aggressively to the actions of the TRAITORS within who have sold YOUR CONSTITUTION and COUNTRY to a FOREIGN POWER.

If the European Commission can persuade the Irish people to vote 'YES' to the LISBON TREATY by November 2009  then our LAST CHANCE to retain our INDEPENDENCE and COUNTRY will be LOST. We hope the Irish people will stand firm not only for THEIR INTERESTS but also for an emergence of a  new DEMOCRATIC EUROPE to arise from the MONSTROUS CREATURE which came into  being with our ratification of the TREATY of ROME (1957) in January 1973 by the then prime minister EDWARD HEATH who until his death in 2005 he had been a NAZI SPY for over 60 years.

AT A TIME OF GOODWILL WOULD YOU SHARE YOUR JOB -MORE LEISURE FOR YOU  AND HOPE FOR ANOTHER?

There will no doubt be send a shiver down the spines of many but it is worth discussing a scheme which compensates the worker for sharing the job.

As anyone who has lost a job and has been unemployed for even a short while there is a loss of esteem and in some cases comradeship and social contacts.

What we had in mind was that those jobs particularly in the PUBLIC SECTOR where the earnings are significant and though the arrangement would bring some extra burden on the person sharing the job they would be assured that they have the security of the work after the arrangement comes to an end . Some may even find it suits their purpose.

Of course the GOVERNMENT would have to ensure that the person who joins the scheme is protected as regards certain matters which would be introduced to give security of employment and other assistance.

AT PRESENT the GOVERNMENT has financially assisted the BANKS and soon BUSINESSES and whatever. What more deserving issue can there be than GETTING PEOPLE BACK TO WORK?

From Wall Street to Kabul, Stupidity reigns Supreme

THAT brains is no bar to stupidity brings us naturally to British policy in the Middle East. In Baghdad, Brown's agreement to leave next year was reached against an accompaniment of exploding bombs and wailing sirens.

On Afghanistan, his latest declaration of British aims, had it been made when our troops first arrived, might seem merely naive optimism.

 In today's circumstances -six  years later! -It is stupidity on stilts. And yet even that verdict is generous.

NOTE how easily BROWN has assumed the mantle of TONY BLAIR'S taste for FABRICATION.   HE boasts of a HUGE SUCCESS -actually the recapture of a small town lost to the Taliban. On and on he rambled about how our troops are 'isolating and elimination and rooting out' the insurgents

Yet the insurgents flourish

AFTER SIX YEARS

of fighting!

An increasing number of Jihadists from all over the Muslim world remain established in their training camps in Pakistan.

For Brown to talk about any 'win' against terrorism in the wake of the Mumbai massacre is to outrage common sense and insult his audience.

His tale of political 'successes' in Afghanistan reads like a parody.

He boasts of the number of women MPs in Afghanistan's virtually powerless parliament.  And we shall tackle the high literacy rate among Afghan women.

[SO THAT IS WHAT OUR TROOPS ARE DYING FOR]

Indeed, Britain, we shall also provide loans to encourage small business  start-ups with special reference to women applicants.

SO THIS IS WHAT OUR TROOPS HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN DYING FOR

The fighting may be bloody, but Afghanistan can now enjoy a touch of equal-opportunities culture.

THIS MUST BE A BOOST TO THE MORALE OF THE TROOPS UNDER FIRE .

On the wider issues, he insists that Afghans themselves 'must be persuaded' to take the lead in improving national and local government.

MUST! HOW? AT THE BARREL OF A GUN?

One is tempted to cry after every silly sentence in his long, silly statement

'AFTER SIX YEARS!'

He does not even tackle the rising threat to our troops' supplies passing through the Khyber Pass.

The trucks hired in Pakistan which do get through must pay bribes to insurgents controlling the area. We have the grotesque position

THAT WE BOTH FUND AND FIGHT INSURGENTS.

This is an unwinnable war, creating more jihadists than it can ever eliminate  It continues because politicians do not have the guts to admit

THE PUBLIC'S PATIENCE HAS ITS LIMITS.
