TODAY the Mail asks a question of profound significance to our destiny as a sovereign nation and the fate of our children and grandchildren.

Who will speak for England?

It's a question inspired  by one of the most dramatic moments in the history of Parliamentary democracy.

The date was September 2, 1939, the day after Hitler invaded Poland. Tory PM Neville Chamberlain had just made an ambivalent statement to the House.

On his backbenches, anti-appeasement stalwart Leo Amery was incensed. As Labour's deputy leader Arthur Greenwood rose to reply for the Opposition, the Tory MP bellowed across the floor:

SPEAK FOR ENGLAND

And Greenwood did just that, voicing anger over the premier's reluctance to honour Britain's treaty obligations to Poland.  Bowing to the mood of the House, Chamberlain

DECLARED WAR ON HITLER THE NEXT DAY.

Nobody is suggesting there are any parallels whatever between the

NAZIS AND THE EU

Indeed, the Mail would argue that one of the Union's great achievements, along with NATO, has been to foster peace in Europe.

But as in 1939, we are at a crossroads in our island history. For oin perhaps as little as 20 weeks 'time, voters will be asked to decide nothing less than what sort of country we want to live in and bequeath to those who come after us.

Are we to be a self-governing nation to control our borders, strike trade agreements with whomever we choose and

DISMISS OUR RULERS AND LAWMAKERS IF THEY DISPLEASE US?

Or will our LIBERTY-SECURITY and PROSPERITY be better assured by submitting to a

STATIST-UNELECTED-BUREAUCRACY IN BRUSSELS

accepting the will of

UNACCOUNTABLE JUDGES

and linking

OUR DESTINY

with that of a sclerotic Europe that tries to achieve the impossible by uniting countries as diverse as

 GERMANY and GREECE.

For make no mistake. After the failure of Mr Cameron's renegotiations-and this week's draft deal shows there's no other word for it than

FAILURE,

since it changes

NOTHING

of any substance in our relationship with the EU

-this is the stark choice facing us in the coming REFERENDUM

For months, we have been bombarded with propaganda from one side: the side that speaks for

BRUSSELS.

In a brilliantly organised campaign,

BIG BUSINESS

UNIVERSITIES

'ELDER STATESMEN'

and the

CIVIL SERVICE

under the direction of its head,

Sir Cover-up' Jeremy Heywood-have been corralled into making the case that it would be a catastrophe if

BRITAIN left the EU.

Needless to say, their apocalyptic interventions have been zealously reported by the supposedly neutral BBC, that former champion of the disastrous EURO, which struggles for the

'OUT' camp

Meanwhile, the Conservative Party has thrown off all pretence of impartiality, proselytizing for the EU in defiance of most of its rank-and-file members, who have grave doubts about Brussels.

More shamefully still, Eurosceptic ministers have been muzzled-banned from speaking on the most momentous issue of our time, even now that we know the  terms Mr  Cameron is willing to accept'

As we report today, an edict has even gone out requiring all Cabinet ministers to filter their statements and quotes on Europe through Downing Street.

So we ask again: who will speak for England( and of course by

'England'

like Amery in 19389, we mean the whole of the United Kingdom)?

ENGLISH FREEDOM - WHY IT IS YOURS?
 SAY 'NO' TO THE EU
 

FREEDOM TO RULE OURSELVES

 

 

The FREEDOM we enjoy today has been achieved by the doggedness of our ancestors and it is an INHERITANCE which has been passed on from generation after generation - it has been fought for since the beginnings of our PEOPLE.

This country abolished the trade of SLAVERY in the early nineteenth century and the traders were compensated. There was no question of anyone refusing to accept compensation and continue to withhold FREEDOM.

Today, the reverse is about to be considered by our government. They intend to hand over the

 " RIGHTS and LIBERTIES

of the English people

which have developed over the centuries since our beginnings in this land.

We are to be asked by our government if we wish to be SLAVES - because that is what it will mean. Those who decline will be expected to accept their slavery if the majority of their citizens no longer wish to be FREE. How can this be so? when it is established law that:

 "No SLAVE can remain un-free in the 'free-air of ENGLAND".
Should the People by a majority decide to relinquish their past freedom for a future among the European States where people are accustomed to rule by a strict regime by an almost unaccountable centralized system where there is

NO! - Common Law of England;
 

NO!- Magna Carta ; NO! - Habeas Corpus ; NO! - Petition of Right ; NO! - Trial by Jury ; NO! - English sense of Fair-Play

 then they will join thirty-eight STATES of which all but six have had Communist or Fascist governments over the past hundred years or so. Some of these countries owe their very existence to this Freedom loving nation of England.
 

If the unthinkable happened - might these Freedom loving people who have been brought to Slavery decide to take the example of their ancestors of over four hundred years ago and look for a new land where English Freedom still exists and await the day when Freedom returns to their Homeland.

Those who wish to Enslave us we would hope will relinquish their English citizenship and leave the 'Land of the Free' for their compatriots beyond our shores where their desire for SLAVERY will be gladly bestowed.

SHOULD GOVERNMENT COLLECT TAXES IN ORDER TO WASTE MONEY

 

The sole legitimate function of Government- is to Protect The Rights of its Citizens

That is why governments were created. It is why they exist. There is no other reason. A government only has the right to tax people in order to pursue that simple aim. It does not have the right to raise taxes if it intends to waste that money or, worse still, to use the money to oppress the citizens. It does not have the right to raise money through taxation when that money will be used to push through legislation, which takes away the citizen’s Freedom.

 

But how many of the things our Government- and the EU- do, are done to protect the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?

 

Just look at what citizens everywhere have a right to expect from their Government – and how our Government is failing in its duty.

1.            Citizens have a right to be able to walk the streets safely – day or night. But there are very few towns in England today where it is safe for a law-abiding citizen to walk after 10pm.

2.            Citizens have a right to know that their politicians will keep their promises. If politicians don’t their electoral promises what is the point in voting for them? Blair & Co. have lied [and still lying in 2004]

3.            Citizens have a right to live their lives freely and in privacy. But Blair & Co. has steadily removed freedoms and the right of privacy. English citizens are losing their status as citizens and rapidly becoming serfs in Blairdom.

4.            Citizens have a right to know that their Government will protect them when on foreign soil. But evidence shows that our Government will not protect English citizens when they are abroad. The elected Prime Minister is more concerned with helping the Americans than looking after the people who pay his wages.

5.            Citizens have a right to know that our taxes are used only for essential and approved public services – and that our money is not wasted. Blair’s Government has wasted billions of pounds of taxpayers’ hard earned money. Vast quantities of cash have been frittered away on absurdly expensive wallpaper, (parts of which now need to be replaced in 2004) the pointless Dome, (still costing £250,000 per month in 2004) personal servants and vast numbers of spin-doctors.

6.            Citizens have a right to be able to travel around the country freely and safely. The English now have a transport system, which is the worst in the world. Train travel has become an expensive lottery with no prizes. Road travel is slow and hazardous. The police are more concerned with collecting speeding fines than keeping traffic moving safely. (Certainly no improvement since 2002)

7.            Citizens have a right to know that they will be able to find good health care when and where they need it. But health care in England is a constantly deteriorating shambles. The Government has given up and is now paying to send a few selected patients abroad for treatment.

8.            Citizens have a right to know that their Government will protect their savings and investments. But the Government itself stole billions from small savers by stealing Railtrack from its shareholders.

9.            Citizens have a right to know that their Government will provide decent education for their children. But the level of illiteracy in England is rising dramatically. Schools are dismal. Teachers are demoralised. There is little discipline or learning.

10.    Citizens have a right to clean drinking water and to be able to buy good quality food at reasonable prices.

11.    Citizens have a right to know that the taxes they are charged will be fair and that the money raised will be used for the benefit of the community.

12.    Citizens have a right to know that their security and freedom will be protected by a fair system of justice- with honest policemen and courts administering justice fairly. This we do not have.

 

 

Citizens everywhere have a right to expect their Government to set an example: to be honest, honourable and fair in their dealings. But the English have a Government, which is dishonest, dishonourable and unfair.

 

Any government exists to make its citizens’ lives better and freer. That is what it is there for. Politicians are paid well, and given numerous perks, in order to provide their employers (the electorate) with good government.

 

But in a what way has the Blair government (now well into its second term and therefore no longer able to blame the previous government for everything that goes wrong) contributed to the freedom and well being of English citizens?

 

If a company fails to fulfil its promises to its customers it will be hauled into court. Why are Blair and his wretched companions immune to the law?

 

It is the duty of those in government to behave responsibly and in the public interest. But most of those in government now are too conceited, too arrogant and too concerned with their own personal futures to put the public interest anywhere near the top of their personal agenda.

 

It is hardly surprising that the exodus of English citizens, leaving to live abroad, now exceeds the number of alleged asylum seekers arriving in England to take advantage of the free benefits system. (Although, for the record, most asylum seekers don’t use the English health service- they go home when they need medical treatment).

 

We have accepted all this because we do not see an alternative.

 

Blair’s Government is the most uncaring, irresponsible and dishonest of my lifetime, though I doubt if the Conservative or Liberals would do a better job. That is the shame of modern politicians.

 

It is our silent acquiescence, which enables Blair to cheat us in this way. That is our shame

 

The easiest thing is to do nothing [to leave it to others to fight your battle to reclaim your ‘rights and liberties’]

 

The easy way out is to turn our backs; to console ourselves with the thought that we can do nothing to change the way things are.

 

And if we choose to do that then we can hardly complain if things continue to get worse: if our freedoms and privacy and rights continue to disappear and our leaders continue to treat us without respect.

 

But should we really allow them to continue to get away with their arrogance and their deceit?

 

We have been betrayed by a bunch of greedy, uncaring, deceitful men and women who are concerned only with their careers.

 

Blair has cheated the public. New Labour has put up taxes dramatically but has invested far too little in new hospitals, schools and roads.

Where did all the money go?

 

Blair and his wastrel chums spent it on spin doctors, parties and fancy wallpaper. But most of all it gave it away to EU bureaucrats.

 

As a result we now live in the worst and feeblest ‘developed’ country in the world.

 

If we do nothing England under Blair will soon become a Third World country. We need to act together. We need to take back our country from the no-hopers who are running it into the ground.

 

Look up the word ‘kakistocracy’ in the dictionary. It means’ the government of a state by the worst citizens. And that is what we’ve got. We are living in a kakistocracy

 

We do not have to give in and let our world be ruined by unimaginative, second rate citizens.

Together we can do anything we want to do.

 

How many marks out of ten would you give your Government for honesty, decency, caring, and efficiency?

Margaret de Canard, or whatever his name was. You know, played by Rupert Davies, or was it Michael Gambaccini- fella with the boat liked a quashed bloodhound?

Anyway, she's come all over Euro-fied, ever since she took part in the Great Brussels Bake Off'. Won first prize with her tarte tatin although I'd have preferred a good old Eton Mess.

Mind you, she weren't too pleased when I had to tell her she can forget about sea bass for the foreseeable, on account of the EU fishing ban. But I've got a freezer full of flood -damaged halibut in the lock-up, so that should see us through. I don't suppose you're interested. No, I didn't think so.

Very well Carruthers, I'll have young Arnie take a look at the grass. My word is my bond, as is Davey Into Europe golden hand shake guarantee. As sound as the euro, squire. Stand on me.

    Fragments of captured Nazi documents.

     

    As mentioned earlier, several revealing Nazi documents, drawn up in the closing days of the

     A third document sketched out a NEW EUROPEAN ORDER

    ('Europaische Friedensordnung')

    which showed a most remarkable resemblance to Dr Adenauer's proposals for a UNITED EUROPE, as well as to the structure of the Maastricht Treaty. This superfluous Nazi document ,which was grandly entitled 'The European Peace-Order', summarised Germany's objectives as follows:

Clearly the Khazarian mafia is running scared and running out of ammunition. The fact that the Khazarian mob controlled Bank of Japan was forced last week to resort to negative interest rates proves their fake fiat money is now worth less than nothing. The Federal Reserve Board will soon be forced to do the same thing. The more you put money in their banks, the more that money vanishes. More about that later.

The other thing that is clearly failing is their ability to create mass panic, fear and loathing, their traditional control tools. Their latest attempt, upgrading a relatively minor illness known as Zika virus into a baby head-shrinking pandemic is so totally fake, with nothing but computer graphics of small headed babies as evidence, that very few real doctors or hospitals are taking it seriously. Time to round up the criminal liars at the WHO.

The latest attempt to create disease panic may be related to efforts to force the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to cede control over their vaccination and other “medical” (eugenic) activities to meritocratic management.

A BLUNDER FOR WHICH WE'LL ALL PAY THE PRICE

BRITAIN is facing the largest wave of immigration for nearly 1,000 years.  The number of Huguenots in the 17th century and the Jews a century ago are trivial compared to the present flows. Recent GOVERNMENT figures put the net inflow at almost 500 every day

On part of this inflow comes from  the new East European members of the EU.  If these people wish to work, they must register, and today's figures show that the number who have registered since eight countries joined in May 2004 has hit 500,000 mark

THE HOME OFFICE - NEVER LET IT BE FORGOTTEN, PREDICTED THAT THIS FIGURE WOULD BE A MAXIMUM 26,000 OVER TWO YEARS.

What effect is all this having and how long can we expect it to continue?

For a start, the registration numbers are looking increasingly DUBIOUS. They have never included the self-employed or temporary workers -the Government themselves have added nearly 50% to take account of this. Even more worrying is the real number of East Europeans who have decided to stay in Britain compared with the number the GOVERNMENT claims have stayed.

Official; statistics suggests that three-quarters of them go home within a year. But these figures are based on a passenger survey which focuses almost entirely on Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester -while East Europeans arrive on budget airlines, mainly at Luton, Stansted and regional airports.

The Governor of the Bank of England has complained twice publicly that the numbers of immigrants are so unreliable that he cannot estimate how tight the labour market has become and, consequently whether or not there is a need to raise interest rates.

There is growing evidence of British workers being replaced by East Europeans. And since East Europeans accept lower wages, British workers -from construction workers to truck drivers to flower arrangers -are suffering pay cuts.

 

The East Europeans can afford a lower wage. They are mainly single. They can, and often do, live in very crowded conditions. And, of course they can earn four or five times what the would earn at home.  This is all good news for them and for their employers. East Europeans have established a solid reputation for hard work, turning up on time and making few demands.  Lower wages mean higher profits. They also mean lower inflation and somewhat lower interest rates [Provided the Bank of England can get the correct immigration figure for their calculation]

The Middle Classes are happy too. Cheap nannies, cheaper restaurants and a cheap hand-wash for the gas guzzler.

 

But there are snags. Not only do the low-paid suffer a reduction in wages. Worse, we risk building up an underclass of long-term unemployment.

 

There are a million young people who are neither in work or education. If you add those on incapacity benefit to the unemployed (now at a six year high), you have nearly

5,000,000

-young people who are NOT WORKING and , more importantly have little prospect of doing so for the foreseeable future.

 

Which employer is going to take a young British worker of incapacity benefit when he can take a bright young energetic and probably over-qualified Pole?

 

The Government frequently claims the East Europeans are filling gaps in the labour market. But we have to examine the facts, NOT THE SPIN.  It is five years since the Government first proclaimed that we need immigration to fill

600,000 vacancies in OUR LABOUR MARKET.

Since then, immigration has added about three-quarters of a million to our population. YET believe it or not, VACANCIES are still at

The REASON is that immigrants are not only filling jobs, but they are also adding to consumer demand, which in turn creates more jobs so that vacancies in the labour market remain the same. 

The Government argument is demonstrably FALSE

[As it is in 2016]

The main outcome is that we become an ever-more crowded island.

And that is where the shoe really pinches.  The strain on our public services and infrastructure grows by the day.  Children are turning up at school gates with NO ENGLISH and NO WARNING.  Rents are rising sharply as the buy-to-let market booms and house prices rise.  More young people find it impossible to get on the housing ladder as prices spiral.

I do not mean in any way to be critical of the new arrivals. They work hard and fit in. BUT the bottom line is that we are a small island and are already overcrowded-especially in the

SOUTH EAST

The Department of Transport has forecast that traffic on our roads will increase by 30 per cent in the next ten years and by 40 to 50 per cent on motorways. GRIDLOCK APPROACHES. It is time that serious thought was given to how many people we can sensibly accommodate on this island.

Is there any relief in sight? Not in the Third World, from where the majority of immigrants still come.  As for Europe, Romania and Bulgaria are no longer on the horizon but on our doorstep. From next January 2007 30 million people from those countries will be free to enter Britain.

 

In the longer term much depends on how much time it will take these countries, given substantial aid from Brussels, to reach our level of economic prosperity. Poland, the source of 60 per cent of East European immigration, will be a key factor. At present, its wealth per head is only just over a third of ours.

 

Even if its economy grows at five per cent a year (and we maintain our long-term growth of 2.5 per cent), it will be 34 years before they catch up.

Demographics will help. The two most populous countries -Poland and Romania -will both have a declining number of 18 year-olds in the years to come, down by about a third over the next 20 years.

Eventually too, the other EU countries will be obliged to open their labour markets to the new member states.

The biggest factor of all is how long our newcomers decide to stay.

Eventually, the flow of those going home will balance those arriving and we will be in the same situation as we are with say FRANCE.

 

This interchange of people is what the EU is all about. Eventually it will enrich our lives. The Government's mistake has been to rush into the free movement of labour with countries so much poorer than ourselves.

 

It now tries to SPIN this DECISION as a GREAT SUCCESS, hoping perhaps that we will overlook its massive miscalculations which originally forecast ONLY 13,000 East Europeans would come here a year.

 

THE REALITY IS IT IS PUTTING A BRAVE FACE ON A BLUNDER FOR WHICH THE LESS FORTUNATE IN OUR SOCIETY ARE NOW PAYING

rather than politicians who are

RESPONSIBLE to the VOTERS.

The prime ministers of Greece, Italy and Spain today are effectively

branch managers

for the

EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK

and

Pro-EU Golden Sachs,

which hold their countries purse strings.

We have come very close to the abolition of politics, replacing it with

RULE by BUREAUCRATS and BANKERS

And David Cameron, by determinedly crushing debate, is shamelessly going along with this lack of

DEMOCRATIC ACCOUNTABILITY.

Just possibly his manoeuvres may come back to haunt him.

The smell from them is simply too putrid to be ignored. Already disenchanted voters may yet identify the  the entire campaign to remain in the EU with a sleazy, incompetent bunch of politicians who have let them down again and again.

A major plank of the Conservative's European manifesto will be apparent strident opposition to the LISBON TREATY and  a commitment to hold a further referendum , post a GENERAL ELECTION.

If Cameron was really opposed to LISBON he would kill it dead

The fact that the Khazarian mob controlled Bank of Japan was forced last week to resort to negative interest rates proves their fake fiat money is now worth less than nothing. The intention of the perpetrators is obvious. They meant to void the Constitution once and for all.

We had already delivered Due Process to the IMF dba UNITED STATES and its franchises, resulting in a proper Judgment of Commercial and Administrative Default.

We had already entered a properly constructed claim in commerce to claim back all the assets naturally belonging to the American people.

We formed an alliance with the Lakota and the Athabasca, two of the largest Native American nations—-which are “federal” and which have internationally recognized tribal governments, and we filed Sovereign Letters Patent and a Declaration of Joint Sovereignty.

The Constitution was saved and a new foundation begun.

The Native Americans are now free to come home to land that they were “removed from”, no longer POW’s, they have regained their sovereignty as free, sovereign and independent people living on the land.

The united States of America and the free, sovereign and independent people living on the land of the organic states have regained their sovereignty in the international jurisdiction of the sea.

For the first time since 1789 Americans are in full control of both their natural land and sea jurisdictions. We are finally whole.

…That thing is Washington, DC that you were misled to believe was “your” government and which you trusted accordingly was never your government. It has always been an abusive and criminally mismanaged foreign government perched on our shores, here under contract to provide “essential governmental services”.

Have you ever heard Mr Blair mention the word "Political" when he speaks about the EURO. Not likely - would he "let the cat out of the bag". Of course he will mention the five Economic tests and how wonderful it is to not have to change your Pound Sterling when you are on holiday in Europe. He might mention this country being at the heart of Europe. Well we all know the truth about that?

At the REFERENDUM the" Propagandist Ministry of Telling Fibs" will make it appear that you have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. The German People over seventy years ago swallowed the same LIES - Will You?

For those who can remember the 1975 REFERENDUM at which time Ted Heath and Roy Jenkins and many others lied at the time about the sovereignty issue and the full consequences of the People accepting membership. Mr Heath has since admitted his guilt.

When the REFERENDUM is offered to you in the near future remember the LIES and don't be taken in by the propaganda. This has been brought about by the actions of HER MINISTERS and the greater number of those in HER PARLIAMENT who have placed THEIR CONCERNS before the INTERESTS of THE PEOPLE and NATION STATE.

 

 As for the fact that HER PEOPLE feel LOST that has been the direct result of the actions of HER SUCCESSIVE GOVERNMENTS and the TRAITOROUS POLITICIANS including PRIME MINISTERS who have stealthily over the 56 years of HER MAJESTY'S REIGN have almost achieved their aim of ENSLAVING the PEOPLE to a FOREIGN POWER. 

The reason for the marked drop in the number viewing THE QUEEN'S SPEECH is no doubt because the mass of people have realised years ago that the MONARCH is powerless to PROTECT their WAY-OF-LIFE and events up to now have PROVED THEM CORRECT.

   That policy, as stated by the leader, was to say 'no' only to joining the common Eurocurrency during either the present parliament or the next; leaving open the possibility of our joining after that.  But this temporizing policy was, we must hope, adopted only to regain the support of the signers of that LETTER and their LIKE.  In that misguided aim IT HAS FAILED, quite dramatically.  So William Hague [Yes! you are right!- he is the FOREIGN SECRETARY in 2014] should now feel free to abandon his appeasement of the unappeasable.  INSTEAD he ought categorically, absolutely and permanently to REJECT the very idea of the UK abandoning its OWN CURRENCY.  He should on this SUPREME ISSUE complement Lady Thatcher's

'NO' 'NO' 'NO'

For the project for a common Eurocurrency is not, and should not be judged as being, a purely or even mainly ECONOMIC PROJECT.  Instead, as everyone who wants to know already knows, it is, and by its CONTINENTAL SPONSORS and CONTROLLERS is advocated as being, the MAJOR, the IRREVERSIBLE STEP, which will make inevitable the establishment of a single common government for the emerging

UNITED STATES of EUROPE.

To take this step, is therefore simultaneously to ABANDON both HOME RULE and NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

[As we have found today in 2014 after the traitorous signing of the LISBON TREATY by Gordon Brown a few years ago.]

Anxious pretence

The reason why most Euro-federalists in the UK both DENY that THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE and PRETEND that JOINING or NOT JOINING the common EURO-currency is simply and solely a matter of the balance of economic advantage and disadvantage, is that they are not confident that they could persuade even the YOUNGER BRITISH GENERATIONS to take THE STEP of JOINING if their eyes were OPENED to WHAT and ALL that THIS STEP would ACTUALLY HOLD.  And the EURO-FEDERALISTS apparently SUFFER this ANXIETY despite ALL the efforts of TRENDY TEACHERS to ensure that their pupils lack any of the knowledge of BRITISH HISTORY.

There are relevant quotations from two GREAT PRIME MINISTERS of EARLIER CENTURIES. The first comes from a speech made by a TORY. William Pitt, the younger, on 31st May 1781. In it he said, of and to MEMBERS of the HOUSE of COMMONS, that they:

"...hold all the strings of the NATIONAL PURSE, and are ENTRUSTED with the GREAT IMPORTANT POWER, FIRST of GRANTING THE MONEY, and then of CORRECTING the EXPENDITURE.  To DELEGATE this RIGHT, then is a VIOLATION of what gives them THEIR CONSEQUENCE in the LEGISLATURE, and what, above all other PRIVILEGES, they CANNOT SURRENDER or DELEGATE without A VIOLENT BREACH of the CONSTITUTION."

The second quotation comes from a speech made at Hasting on 17th May 1891 by WILLIAM EWART GLADSTONE. (He was, of course, a classical LIBERAL, rather a modern LIBERAL or SOCIAL DEMOCRAT.) He said then:

" The FINANCE of the COUNTRY is ULTIMATELY ASSOCIATED with THE LIBERTIES of the COUNTRY.  It is a POWERFUL LEVERAGE by which ENGLISH LIBERTY has been GRADUALLY ACQUIRED... IF the HOUSE of COMMONS by ANY POSSIBILITY  LOSE the POWER of the CONTROL of the GRANTS of PUBLIC MONEY, depend upon it, YOUR VERY LIBERTY will be WORTH very LITTLE in COMPARISON, That POWERFUL LEVERAGE has been what is commonly known as THE POWER of the PURSE- the CONTROL of the HOUSE of COMMONS over EXPENDITURE.

Appalling prospect

Even those who may believe that our liberties are adequately safeguarded by the INCORPORATION of the EUROPEAN DECLARATION of HUMAN RIGHTS into UK LAW, and who are unworried by the constitutional impropriety of the successive delegations consequent upon the TREATIES of ROME, MAASTRICHT, and AMSTERDAM, ought to be appalled by the prospect of SURRENDERING ALL POWERS and PRIVILEGES of OUR NATIONAL PARLIAMENT to a EURO-FEDERAL PARLIAMENT IN which BRITISH MEPs of ALL PARTIES will ALWAYS BE A RELATIVELY TINY MAJORITY.

For our EU 'partners' already gain substantially from their exploitation of OUR FISHING GROUNDS, from our MEMBERSHIP of the COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY and from

 OUR [CONSIDERABE) NET CONTRIBUTION to EU FUNDS (our tribute quota).

So how else can we explain the eagerness of those 'partners' to involve the UK in their EURO-CURRENCY, and consequently to SUBORDINATE the UK to the COMMON EU GOVERNMENT, except what they must very reasonably see as a NATION of SUCKERS RULED by a defacto COALITION of COLLABORATORS?

A year on, Blair's media friends have been praising the relaxation of licensing laws. For the TRUTH read this article that appears in a left wing magazine...

 

SEVERAL liberal commentators have claimed over the last few days that the Government's introduction of the 24-hour drinking licenses have had a beneficial effect on British society, and that those who criticized the relaxation of the law have been proved wrong.

Here, the Daily Mail reprints an article from the left -wing New Statesman magazine which offers a very DIFFERENT VIEW.

At 3am on a Saturday night in Croydon High Street, the bars and clubs are kicking out. Hundreds of young people pack the street, shouting drunkenly and milling around, reluctant to go home.  There is aggressive edge to the crowd that makes the heavy police presence reassuring.

 

'There's always a meat wagon and an ambulance parked here,' says Dean Leahy, 24. 'You get lots of fights. It's a war zone; the bouncers don't care what happens on the street and you can't police it. There are just too many people.'

 

It is one year since the licensing laws were changed and it's hard to imagine a scene more at odds with the continental cafe culture that ministers had hoped would flourish once drinking hours were extended.

 

'Nothing has changed,'

[WORSE IN 2016]

says a barman working in Yate's, a busy night spot on the High Street, It's the same story -except now everyone gets booted out between two and three in the morning.'

 

The Home Office and the Department of Health say there is 'no indication' that the change in licensing laws has had a negative impact on alcohol-related crime or public health. But that is not the point; Britain is in the grip of an alcohol epidemic that the Licensing Act has proved completely unable to arrest. It was supposed , at the very least to spread the flow of frustrated drunks on to the streets and, by ending the race to get tanked up before last orders, reduce crime and curb binge drinking.

 

Every Friday and Saturday night , 70 per cent of all A&E admissions and 80 per cent of pedestrian road deaths are alcohol - related while the cost of alcohol abuse to the UK economy is estimated at £20 billion a year.

A REPORT from ALCOHOL CONCERN earlier this month put the number of alcohol-related deaths at more than 22,000 a year-nearly three times the official 8,000.

 

Most alarming is the discovery that those least able to handle drink have taken to the bottle as never before.  The number of under -18s admitted to hospital with alcohol related conditions is UP by MORE THAN 20 PER CENT in the PAST FIVE YEARS.

Dr Nick Sherin, a member of the Royal College of Physicians 'Alcohol Committee, said:

 

'Deaths from liver disease have doubled in the past ten years and the people I am seeing are getting younger.'

The implications for future public health are disastrous. Worse, the full health impact of excessive alcohol on the young is still unknown.

 'The adolescent brain is vulnerable and it remains a strong possibility that heavy drinking could cause lasting damage,' says Sherin

Carole Whittingham, the national secretary for the Campaign Against Drinking and Driving, is deeply worried.

'Young people go out with the deliberate intention of getting as drunk as possible.' she says.

'Seven years ago, I would have said that young people were responsible and that drink-driving was primary a problem of middle -aged men. That's no longer the case.  We are seeing more young people and more young women convicted of drink-driving.'

It is not just that young people are drinking more; there has been a huge shift in gender behaviour. Teenage girls in Britain are now drinking more than boys, according to a recent European survey.  Almost a third (29 per cent) of female students admit drinking to excess at least three times a month, compared with 26 per cent of boys, while consumption among women of all ages has doubled over the past decade.

 

[Well we have always referred to those children and youths who have been around over the last ten years as Blair's children because it has been under New Labour that the excesses in ALCOHOL-DRUGS-PREGNANCY -CRIME -ILLITERACY-GAMBLING and whatever in their anything goes culture.  As with the Tobacco Industry scandal of a cover-up for may years of the TRUTH about their product we will no doubt see an attempt by others who are destroying our young people to evade their responsibility when their time comes.]

 

The causes for heavy drinking are complex, but the Medical Association identifies two key factors: PRICE and AVAILABILITY.

ALCOHOL is getting CHEAPER

In the past 40 years alcohol consumption per person (aged 15 plus) has doubled and the price of alcohol relative to income has halved. A third of all 24-hour licenses granted were given to supermarkets, where alcohol is cheapest. It is not surprising, then that consumption outside licensed premises is on the rise.

 

Pressure group Action on Addiction (AOA) is one of a number of organisations campaigning for an increase in the price of alcohol. Research shows that the higher the price of alcohol relative to income, the less the nation as a whole drinks,' says Nicola Brian, of AOA.

'We believe that raising the price would have a significant impact on young people who are more likely to have lower disposable incomes..'

 

According to Dean Terry , manager of The Ship in Croydon:

'There's a lot of pressure to sell as much alcohol as you can. On the one hand you are told to encourage sensible drinking and not to serve drunk people, but on the other you are supposed to drive sales.

SO WHERE IS THE LINE?

 

The reality is that no bar is going to stay open longer, yet be content to sell the same amount of alcohol as before.

 

The only hope of combating a growing disaster is to change public attitudes. last month, the Government launched its first national alcohol awareness campaign. The slick £4 million

'Know Your Limits' campaign

 is designed to shock.

 

In one TV ad, a drunken man, fuelled by Dutch courage, attempts to impress a group of girls by rescuing balloons caught high in some scaffolding.

He plunges to his DEATH.

YET THE DRINKS INDUSTRY IS STILL DOING WHAT IT HAS ALWAYS DONE: TRYING TO MAXIMIZE ITS SALES
