“It never troubles a Wolf how
many the Sheep be”
It
is an accepted fact that the English Commons owe their supreme place in the
State to their power of granting supplies. When our economy is fully run
from Brussels on the signing of the New Constitution by those Traitors within
our midst –what use the Commons of England.
This
will only be the beginning to our future troubles. As we shall be dependent on
24 other countries or should I say Slave States on the direction to
which our divided country will be but a passive observer.
History
has many examples of States great in territory and yet unable to command or
protect their land because of the nature of the inhabitants and loss of
cohesion. Whereas many smaller
States, as our own, have by their nature and cohesion developed into great
nations.
For
a nation, which has proved its destiny on many occasions throughout its long
history, to align itself at this time, when the very idea of a European
Super State to the majority of the peoples of the existing members is
abhorrent, is beyond comprehension.
In
many, a Referendum will be offered and at the eleventh hour no doubt Tony Blair
might well consider it useful for his own reasons to fall in line.
Throughout
history the size of a State has not itself guaranteed success in War or
Economy. The events in present day Iraq are a potent example of what follows an
unthought through Invasion of a country, which was no threat to the
Invaders. The failure to finish the job
in the first Gulf War when legitimacy was on their side was down to the same
muddled thinking which produced the present impasse in Iraq today
When
one considers the great danger to which our Nation has been subjected by a
British Prime Minister with no time for history or national identity or the
protection of our borders, and the troubles, the result of lies and deception-
Why? Should we trust the same individual to guide the future of our nation for
even another day?
Long
back in history the army of the Persians a vast host, which they say, marched
for days and blotted out the horizon before encountering those great patriots
of Greece – the Spartans on the Plain of Thermopile.
Later
in the Plains of Arbela the commanders of Alexander the Great’s army came to
him, and wished him to set upon them by night –to achieve a quick victory, but
he answered, “He would not steal in the night – that victory”.
What
we could all learn from this episode of history is the importance of the
inbuilt confidence and determination with which our own Nation was forged and
which still gives us the bravest and most stoic fighting forces in the world .
We
now expect our forces will be betrayed by the European adventure and the
politically correct brigade who with their usual mania for their own agenda
have made a start in the countdown to the eventual reduction of the fighting
efficiency of our forces, as described in the events Ancient and Modern shown
above.
The
same ills which will affect the efficiency of British Forces will also in part
be suffered by the American Forces though there is no evidence that their government
has neglected the material needs of its brave soldiers, which is fortunate for
our ‘Borrowers’ in Iraq and elsewhere.
It
was observed well over a hundred and fifty years ago that the New World bred a
doer rather than a talker as their military history has demonstrated on many
occasions since.
‘ When an overseas visitor to West
Point read on a little monument that a portion of the army being ambushed in
one of the Indian wars, every man stood his ground, fighting till only three
survived, when help came. - Grand!
Immortal!
But what moved me by a
survivor that not one word of command was given after the first order. Every officer silently drew his sword,
became a common soldier, and fought so on to the end. There was no need of command, only the low prayer of the dying;
the message to the loved ones at home; and all day the deadly fight went on.
That is America that is American character emptied of the froth of
Fourth of July and foreign tradition. And that is the germ of the great
American play’
As
with our troops and all others risking their lives
In
Iraq, they have been placed in an impossible situation by politicians who gave
little thought to the complex nature of the task before them and the losers in
this dreadful mess are those brave soldiers who were trained for a battle which
no doubt bore no relation to that for which they now find themselves with few
friends and many –many enemies the supposed friends of the ‘Liberators, who
hate them more each day as they try to sort the helpless and unsolvable mess
they are asked to clear up.
As
there is unlikely to be at the present time any viable political settlement in
Iraq it would be best for all concerned to accept the inevitability that Iraq
can only survive divided into its religious tribal areas. This would be a
defensive strategy, which should be more agreeable to all parties. It would
also change the character of the presence of the UN troops to ‘visitors’ to the
area.
Over
the past few decades a number of military observers have for some time been
greatly troubled to put it mildly of the ineptitude of successive governments to
ensuring the supply of the necessary equipment and vital training for our armed
forces.
Recent
events have confirmed their fears. Because of the importance of this issue to
the people of this country as we are sure there are few citizens who have not
had or have relatives serving in the forces, and with our troops serving in
many parts of the world for years to come, that more importance should be given
to the appointment of a Minister of War as after all, to all intents and
purposes we are still at war (peace-keeping?) and expect to be for many years to come in many parts of the world .
Those Ministers and other members of Committees who have shown crass inefficiency
rather than to protect our forces from the shortages of life-saving equipment, should be relieved of their tasks without delay. Only by
replacing those shown to be negligent in their duties, will confidence be restored.
After all it is a
matter of life and death and it can no longer be dealt with by those who like
Mr Hoon consider a skiing holiday abroad the more important issue, and others
who consider their responsibilities are to their Party chums instead of a
fearless Independent Inquiry.
Whatever happens- we must
not become ‘Sheep’ in a Lion’s skin.
