MR BLAIR – A PREROGATIVE TOO FAR?

 
Over the past seven years we have a Prime Minister with no respect for the Constitutional conventions of England. He has almost fulfilled his previous hidden agenda of destroying our Constitution and our Identity as an English Nation State.

 

For over three generations and more particularly today, the fears of an despotic and arrogant Executive has been a constant theme of Constitutional writers and we today are witnessing the actual horror of such an un –English monstrosity which is now with us by the courtesy of the `Slave of the People`. What a contrast we find ourselves in viewing the result of his untrueful pronouncement.

 

Today the People are now more aware of the dangers to their Freedoms and Liberties. Because of the Free Press we enjoy today and the heroic action of a Traditional supporter of the English Freedom for over one hundred years, with its motif frontispiece emblem of England, in bringing into the Public domain the NEW European Constitution, which the Government had hoped to hide behind the Euro Question, until it was too late for any effective opposition to be taken.

 

The greatest safeguard to our Democracy is a Free Press. After the events of the Great War of 1914-1918 our John Galsworthy, ( Novelist ) in his Essay ` Talking at large ` commented “ The Press is for the most part in the hands of men who know what is Good and RIGHT. It can be a great agency for levelling up. But whether on the whole it is so or not, one continually hears doubted. There ought to be no room for doubt in any of our minds that the Press is on the side of the angels. It can do as much as any other agency to raise the level of honesty, intelligence, public spirit, and taste in the average voter; in other words to build Democracy on a sure foundation. This is a truly tremendous trust; for the safety of civilization and the happiness of mankind hang thereby. The saying about little children and the kingdom of heaven was meant for the ears of all those who have it in their power to influence simple folk. To be a good and honest editor, a good and honest journalist is in these days to be a veritable benefactor of mankind.”

 

What must be obvious to many people is if it was so easy for a so called Democratic State – once the envy of the World to be fooled in this way, what are we to expect in the huge unaccountable and alien experiment in World Government which Mr Blair and his `Heart of Europe` chums have in store for us.

 

The Office of Prime Minister is the pinnacle of Power in our Political Arena since its inception over three hundred years ago (though only officially recognized on the fourth of December 1905 – London Gazette). The Office has been held by many True Patriots of England BUT since the early seventies (with the exception of ONE worthy holder of the Office) - by a small number of self proclaimed Traitors who without being Honest with the People and fearing to consult the People have sold their Country into Slavery.

 

This has been brought about by the domination of Legislature by the Cabinet but particularly by the now unquestioned and unaccountable Prime Minister.

The answer is obvious – we need more Independent Members of the House of Commons. For an efficient and effective House we also need the Party System – but the problem has been around for over a Hundred years.

The arrogance of the present Government by ignoring Historical Convention of long standing, which has been the first defensive shield of our Constitution, has shown how vulnerable we are to a Dictatorship.

 

A possible solution would be for each voter to be given an additional vote, which would be to select an Independent member of the House of Commons from selection of  candidates from each Shire County of England. The 40 new seats in the House will collectively be known, as the Shire Moot of England. An Act of Parliament would indicate the necessary conditions regarding the suitability of Candidates. These Guardians of our Democracy and English Freedom, to be selected for their Integrity and Independence. This measure would we hope to be introduced in an Independent English Parliament outside of a European Super state. The increased Representation would be offset by the vacancies created by the return of Scottish and Welsh members to their own National Parliaments. The Ulster dimension will depend on the wishes of their Free People.

 

In support of the Independent member Franklin D. Roosevelt urged, “ There is among you the man who is not bound by party lines. You vote according to your common sense and your calm judgment after hearing each party set forth its program. To you I say that the strength of this independent thought is the great contribution to the American political system”.

 

As is known the Prime Minister has the ultimate threat of dissolving Parliament in order to keep his Slaves in Order! –(Subject to the approval of the Monarch) A fixed Parliamentary Term of three years would (except in special agreed circumstances) reduce the effectiveness of this weapon so destructive to a Free and Accountable Parliament.  

 

The real answer to our Problems would be if the House of Commons dissolved itself and arranged for its powers to be transferred to a designated Assembly in order that the Terms of New Constitution is put to the People in a Referendum. The EDP would wish that the Constitution be that that existed before our entry into the European Communities Act 1972 which would enable us to regain everything we had lost in Independence, with a provision for a Supreme Constitutional Court to protect our Ancient and Just Liberties for as long as we remain in Spirit and Values an English Nation.  (But it would now need a Revolution to achieve this) It would not have been so urgent before the emergence of New Labour – but instead an Amendment to the Constitution to appoint a Supreme Constitutional Court to protect the Liberties of our Nation. The withdrawal from certain Treaties would have sufficed.

 

The general opinion by the public can be expressed in the words of Abraham Lincoln:

 “ If ever this free people – if this government itself is ever utterly demoralized, it will, come from this incessant human wriggle and struggle for office, which is but a way to live without work.” and as Disraeli commented “ There is no gambling like politics “.

 

With the recent events in Iraq in mind the words spoken at a critical time in our history during the Tyranny of the Stuart kingship of the seventeenth century, by a French essayist Jean de la Bruyere on statesmanship:

“ How happy the station which every moment furnishes opportunities of doing good to thousands! – How dangerous that which every moment exposes to the injuring of millions!”

 

In final deep respect for a great office of State which its present incumbent, President Bair, expects to neuter when he has finally connived to force the introduction of Regions or Provinces and thereby destroy the Integrity of England, to bring us into line with Europe.  Each region will have its own so called First Minister with the consequent increase in Bureaucrats and increased costs for the people of each region to bear. It is taking this Nation back to a time before the then final Unity of our Peoples over 1200 years ago.

 

Strange that with the present Governments Devolution on track with their acknowledgement of the internal Integrity of Scotland and Wales that the mention of the right of the Integrity of England would be announced as it was in the

Act of Union with Ireland in the year 1800 in Art.2.Terms of Union between  - wait for it! – England and Scotland.  Art.5 ……by the Acts for the Union of the two Kingdoms of England and Scotland. We are certainly a very modest Nation evidenced by the infrequency of the word England in over four pages of foolscap details of the mechanism for the working of the Treaty. But this is our way  - unfortunately as shown by our sister nations if you wish to protect the Integrity of your Nation you cannot afford to be modest. Look where it has got us! – England is rarely mentioned by the Public Broadcasting Service or for that matter by the greater part of the Press or Local or Central Government.  Devolution for England  where is it? and we don’t mean Regions.

 

In the words of a great King of Sparta - Agesilaus over two thousand and three hundred and seventy years ago

 “ The place should not honor the man but the man the place “ (not much chance in our time). And with the final comment of an American theologian Tryon Edwards:

“ Whatever the place allotted us by providence, that is for us the post of honor and duty. – God estimates us not by the position we are in, but by the way we fill it.”

 

In the nineteenth century a great and learned Constitutional historian Bishop Stubbs stated that “ Just as, long ago the Witenagemot (Historical meeting place of the wise men of the Shires of England) amalgamated the small principalities, so one the gathering of five or six hundred men coming from every corner of the land Cements the Unity of the Kingdom “.   [Of ENGLAND]

 

We have no need of Regions but the respect of a Prime Minister for the Traditions and Customs of the Realm of England. The EDP accepts that change will occur but it must not destroy the delicate fabric of our Constitution of over a Thousand years in its making. There was no need to abolish the Office of Lord Chancellor but as is this Countries custom to keep the name but redefine its position in the Law and Custom of the Realm after due consultation with all the tripartite protectors of the Constitution.

 

In answer to those who are impatient for change, the comments of an eighteenth century defender of Freedom    Edmund Burke exclaimed: “ ….In the first place society is far too complicated to be tinkered with. A person’s constitution is the result of many minds in many ages. It is no simple, no superficial thing, nor to be estimated by superficial understanding. An ignorant man, who is not fool enough to meddle with his clock, is however sufficiently confident to think he can safely take to pieces, and but together at his pleasure a moral machine of another guise, importance and complexity …Men little think how immorally they act in rashly meddling with what they do not understand. A society is a delicate organism, developing and adapting itself to circumstances. To interfere with any major institution would start a chain of repercussions throughout the whole system, with results no man could foresee. It is more prudent, then, to accept the structure as we find it. It has been pieced together laboriously out of the conflict of competing interests. It is a balance worked out by practical men, a pragmatic compromise, not a vision dreamed up by theorists “ To those arrogant persons who have commenced this process they only have to reflect on their present plight?
