Michael Howard say’s he will fight tax rises

– But who will fight to protect OUR Constitution?

At this time of the year the political parties are sending out their colourful leaflets to encourage us to vote for their party. In order to make it easier for many of us they are encouraging us to vote by post. This is indeed a great help to the old and disabled but what an opportunity for unscrupulous persons to trawl up these postal votes and bring pressure to bear in order to obtain the vote for their own party.

 

It has been said that every vote for the eurosceptic parties is wasted as it takes away the crucial votes to obtain more Conservative votes.

 

This is true –but at the forthcoming European Election we would encourage every TRUE Conservative not to vote for the present supposed Conservative party but vote for the largest anti –EU party the UK Independence Party. As the increase of UKIP MEPs will send a strong message to Michael Howard that voting against Labour’s Tax Rises though abhorrent, the greatest threat is the future existence of this country its TRUE Constitution and our way-of –life.

 

It is obvious why the supposed protectors of our Constitution are concentrating their message on Tax Rises but is it not time they had the courage to fight on the TRUE issues which no future government can ignore. If they take a real beating at the European and local elections they may then have the courage to fight on the most important issue that any political party has fought under since the party system came into being those few centuries ago.

 

Many loyal Conservative voters will find it one of the most difficult decisions of their life to place their vote elsewhere even if in the end this will be the only way to save their Free Nation State. If the majority of Conservative voters are brave enough to carry out this action at the coming European Elections it will send a message to Conservative Central Office to fight on the correct issues at the General Election in 2005.

 

In the meantime the Conservative Party should direct all their energies to awaken a greater number of people in the country to the real dangers which beset our Nation, and by so doing will receive back the loyalty of all TRUE Conservative voters at the General Election.

 

One of our greatest Parliamentarians of the 18^th century Edmund Burke when in his speech regarding ‘Conciliation with America’, remarked in our House of Commons when speaking of the character of the Americans.’This fierce spirit of Liberty is stronger in the British Colonies probably than in any other people on the earth; and this from a great variety of powerful causes; which, to understand the true temper of their minds, and the direction which this spirit takes, it will be not amiss to lay open somewhat more openly.

 

First, the people of the Colonies are descendants of Englishmen.  England, Sir, is a nation, which still I hope respects, and formerly adored, her freedom.

 

The Colonists emigrated from you when this part of your character was predominant; and they took this bias and direction the moment they parted from your hands.  They are therefore not only devoted to Liberty, but to a Liberty according to English ideas, and on English principles. 

 

Abstract Liberty, like other mere abstractions, is not to be found. Liberty inheres in some sensible object; and every nation has formed to itself some favourite point, which by way of eminence becomes the criterion of their happiness.  It happened, you know, Sir [to the Speaker of the House as is accustomed] that the great contests for freedom in this country was from the earliest times chiefly upon the question of Taxing.

 

Most of the contests in the ancient commonwealths turned primarily on the right of election of magistrates; or on the balance among the several orders of the state. 

 

But in England it was otherwise.

 

On this point of Taxes the ablest pens, and the most eloquent tongues, have been exercised; the greatest spirits have acted and suffered. In order to give the fullest satisfaction concerning this point, it was not necessary for those who in argument defended the excellence of the English Constitution, to insist on in this privilege of granting money as a dry point of fact, and to prove, that the right had been acknowledged in ancient parchments, and blind usages, to reside in a certain body called the House of Commons.

 

They went much further; they attempted to prove, and they succeeded, that in theory it ought to be so, from the particular nature of an House of Commons, as an immediate representative of the People; whether the old records had delivered this oracle or not.

They took infinite pains to inculcate, as a fundamental principle, that in all monarchies the people must in effect themselves, mediately or immediately, possess the power of granting money, or no shadow of Liberty can subsist….’

 

A Nation that cannot administer its own money supply is not a Free Nation State

 

On what better platform could the true Conservative Party make their stand than on their historic task of protecting the Liberty of our Country and Constitution?

 

It will be a harder road to traverse because of the great difficulties on the road ahead to alert all our people to the great dangers to our future Liberty but there is no easy way but the dogged determination to fight until the battle is won.
