We
were there! Though the numbers were small the importance of the
issue was large having already made a marked impression on a Government not
wishing to have a reoccurrence of a Poll Tax resistance from the most
vulnerable members of society. It has already made a statement of its intention
to cap certain Councils should they submit higher increases in the future. But the real answer -pensions
fixed to wages.
But the fact remains that the basic pension is inadequate
and should be increased in line with wage increases plus an element for the
thousands of £; s wrongly taken from them since 1979. In the Compensation
culture of today at least this is a worthy cause.
The illustration by the Media on screen the day before of a
typical case of hardship was astray by thousands of £’s. I’m sure we can all
find pensioners and persons on low incomes in almost every parish, town and
city of the land, The Government will say that there is family credit but
many pensioners of today have no inclination to give the government the right
of further intrusion in their lives. They demand only their just reward as was
promised over 50years ago by a Labour Government.
Of what is left of our few Freedoms in our now almost
Totalitarian State is the right to march in the near precincts of OUR Parliament to
protest at a Government, which will not listen. Some say that marches have no
effect on Government policy –but it is well to remember that over a million people
attended the Peace march against the Iraq War. This might explain what appears some
restraint by the Terrorists by as yet not committing an outrage on our Island. This is not to say that we
are not at risk and that we need to be vigilant against the possibility.
But it should be borne in mind that this same government has
allowed mass unlimited illegal immigration over the past seven years and it was
confirmed by the French Terrorist Chief that there were suspect terrorists in
the role of ‘refugees’? within our
midst prior to them travelling to America to commit the September 11th
outrage.
It will be the stance of the Government that they have to
consider any concerns from the Security Services before permitting a march. It
is those same security services who in the main lied at the Parliamentary
Inquiry into the examination of Dr Kelly and who also collaborated the
existence of WMD’s. So we have to suffer the loss of our main
political weapon of dissent – to march - with the knowledge that the
information upon which the Police act may well be at best unreliable and at
worst a Lie.
We appreciate that
there are occasions when certainty is impossible but it is because of this
factor that the Public expect the Security Services at all times to maintain
their Integrity in defiance of a meddlesome and deceitful government.
There should be introduced some special measures to ensure
that the Public can have full confidence in the truthfulness and manner of
operation of the Security Services who after all are there to protect the People and
the Nation. And not to engage in being Spin Doctors for a
government, which has no respect for our Constitution or for that matter with
the image of a once, Mother of Parliaments once respected throughout the
world for Democratic
Accountability.
It
is well to remind The People that to decline to take an active part in
protecting your right to march and protest at the present time in our Islands
history will result in- to use a well known phrase ‘If you do not use you will
lose it’ which applies to all manner of things but particularly in defending
Freedom itself- which will surely be lost if the present apathy should continue
as evidenced by the poor turn-out with regard to such a worthy cause, by so
many people in our Country today.
Because
of the general attitude of the government, the only course now open to
protesters will be to introduce the ‘Gandhi’ effect of civil disobedience in
our fight to obtain the attentions of a uncaring and arrogant Executive in order
to secure the ‘Rights and Liberties of Englishmen’ for us all in this land.

The extra tier of citizenship was thrust upon
the people without their consent -and in many cases knowledge.
The PEOPLE of GREAT BRITAIN should be allowed
the option of opting out of the EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP if they so wish. The
GOVERNMENT will then be able to provide those who have opted out with
BRITISH DOCUMENTATION
-only such as British (not EU) passports,
driving licences and other national documents.
EU laws will also NOT APPLY to those who
HAVE OPTED OUT OF EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP
