WHO would have believed that a nation built of the
Love of Liberty
could have turned so quickly into a society where decent
citizens are treated as
CRIMINALS
-where the
STATE
-can snoop and pry into virtually every home and even
FREE SPEECH
can come at a terrible price.
Just consider this week - a week which has high-lighted
some deeply sinister signs of
EROSION
in the
FREEDOMS
WE ONCE TOOK FOR GRANTED.
TODAY, for example, we reveal an astonishingly increase
in the number of householders punished for such
'offences'
as overfilling their wheelie bins,
putting them out too early
or leaving sacks of 'side waste'
for the dustman to collect.
SOME
33,000 on the spot fines were imposed last year, a
fifteenth-fold leap on five years ago.
And why this explosion in so-called littering?
SIMPLE
In a cynical attempt to save money, local councils are
reducing rubbish collections to
ONCE a FORTNIGHT
which they claim will encourage
RECYCLING
But of course the consequences are miserably
predictable.
Worsening smells
Vermin
A higher risk of disease
A positive encouragement to fly-tipping
THUS
the worthwhile cause of environmental protection is
PERVERTED
into quite the opposite, as a result of
OFFICIAL FOLLY.
MEANWHILE
householders grow desperate, when all they want is
THEIR RUBBISH COLLECTED
AS IT USED TO BE.
And the more councils enforce their diktat with spy
cameras and microchips in bins, the more ordinary people feel bullied
and criminalised. But hey, who cares?

Consider the truly disturbing demand made by

this week that millions of honest citizens should be
placed on a
'BIG BROTHER' DNA DATABASE
-if they commit the most trivial of misdemeanours, on the
outrageous assumption that they may one day perpetuate a serious crime.
INNOCENT until proved GUILTY
FORGET IT.
SO DON'T let your dog foul the pavement,
DON'T drive without a seat-belt
DON'T drop a careless cigarette butt.
Commit even the most minor offence and under this lunatic

using their minority privilege to set up school in
