FRAIL widow, 88, KILLED by
SHOCK of being BURGLED. * Daily Mail Monday, July 3-2006. by Ben Taylor Crime Correspondent A FRAIL widow who had been
repeatedly targeted by criminals collapsed and died while telephoning police to
report a burglary. Irene Fairlie, 88, made the emergency call after she woke from a nap at her home to discover an intruder had stolen her purse. Mrs Fairlie, an asthma
sufferer immediately telephoned police but while she was speaking to an
operator she started gasping for breath and the line went silent. Mrs Fairlie, who was only
4ft 9in, managed to press a panic alarm but by the time neighbours and
ambulance staff arrived at her bungalow in Pinkney’s Green, Maidenhead,
Berkshire, she was dead. Last night police said that
Mrs Fairlie, a former dog breeder who judged at Crufts, had been killed by the
worry of the burglary on Saturday. Detective Chief Inspector
Steve Reschwamm of Thames Valley Police said: ‘She died very shortly after discovering the mid-afternoon burglary. ‘She was in her home and had decided to have a sleep at about 1pm. She awoke at 3.30pm to discover she had been burgled and that her purse had been taken. ‘We believe the stress of the burglary contributed to her death.’ Mrs Fairlie lived in a
£280,000 semi-detached bungalow in a middle-class suburb, but neighbours said
the AREA had been plagued by vandalism and drug-taking youths who left syringes
in the street. She was mugged three years
ago on her doorstep by a youth who stole her handbag. On another occasion her
garage was burgled. Neighbour Mary bell said: ‘When she was
mugged, a young fellow followed her from the supermarket and attacked her after
she dropped the keys.’ Another
neighbour Sam Salmon, said: ‘Only last week we were featured in the local paper talking about the amount of problems of drug-related crime in the area.’ Her son, retired airline
pilot John Fairlie, said: ‘My mother was a sprightly and energetic women and we are devastated. ‘It is a bit unclear at this stage what exactly happened and we may never know. But it appears some burglars broke in.’ Mr Fairlie, 59, a father of
three, added: ‘She ad bred dogs, primarily Afghan hounds, and was a judge at Crufts. She was very intelligent and warm person, and very independent, but she was getting quite frail in recent years. ‘She had breathing problems which had meant that she had been in hospital but when I last saw her on Thursday she was in good spirits. ‘This was a tragic and unforeseen consequence of petty crime. The hot weather did not help her asthma and anything else would have added to the stress. ‘People must think of the consequences of their actions and I hope the culprits will consider how they would feel it this was their own mother. These people prey on the vulnerable.’ His wife Stella, 58, added: ‘Irene was a very energetic women for her age ‘Although she was getting a bit frail, she was still independent. For it to end like this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. ‘Irene had a lot of friends and accomplished an awful lot. She had a very full life.’ Neighbour Mary Beal, 76,
said: ‘She was always
very bubbly and she spoke to everyone in the area. She was just a little old
lady. She was only 4ft 9ins. This was a robbery, her gate was open and she never leaves it open. Her purse and its contents were scattered all over the rug. When I went in she was dead. * * * To follow further evidence of the fact that the streets of our communities are now in the hands of the drug-fuelled and other THUGS from HELL since THE POLICE -retreated into their blockhouses with their bullet-proof vests and mountainous paperwork and only left their keep if some misguided subject-citizen used inappropriate language -then it was a fair cop as far as the powers of so-called LAW and ORDER? were concerned.
* * * 81-year-old Terminal Cancer
sufferer and his hard-of-hearing wife invaded and robbed at mid-day by four excuses for human beings. This atrocious
happening now so common in our once almost peaceful and pleasant land was only
a short distance away from our location and was perpetrated by four youths who
used the frequent tactic of saying they were from the Water Board. The first youth called and said he was from the Water Board and when he had gained entry three others who gave the impression that they had been visiting other houses in the area followed him in succession. As one of the youths kept
the couple talking -who had been resting prior to the invasion of the THUGS
from Hell and as a consequence they were taken as expected- by surprise. The youths finally left the
traumatised couple after having taken some hundreds of pounds. When the police constable and the accompanying WPC arrived there was a 6-page questionnaire to be completed, which was duly done. The 81-year-old Terminal Cancer sufferer though greatly traumatised by the event noticed the look on the face of the WPC and commented that she looked very tired. The WPC just smiled. Such a caring comment shows to us all the compassionate attitude of the person and his caring wife. Some of the remarks made by the victims were too despairing to ever relate as to do so would make us all ashamed to belong to the Human Race The Police made the comment that they knew the persons who carried out the robbery. We await with bated breath the early capture of the Band of Thieves from Hell This particular incident must by its very nature be even a step too far for many members of the Criminal Underground and we hope that they will dispense their own JUSTICE as even if these excuses for human beings are taken to Court they will no doubt not suffer any equivalent TRAUMA as handed out by them to the 81-year-old Terminal Cancer suffer and his hard-of-hearing wife who had been resting after her always devoted attention to her husband. We hope a Nation Newspaper will follow this story to its ultimate result of the capture and adequate sentencing of the Band of Thieves from Hell. [After suffering the traumatic ordeal of the Four Thugs from Hell only in just over a week - a few days later at just after midnight four other teenage YOBS having had their fill at the local pub appeared nosily in the vicinity and one youth started by swinging on a tree branch like Tarzan another was snorting something while another relieved himself facing towards the houses in the area, For them it was no doubt in their eyes a bit of fun but for elderly and sick people it is a terrifying experience. If they want some excitement in their their dull lives why don’t they go to Afghanistan where the Taliban will know how to deal with such misguided youths. But of course they would not it is so much easier to terrify the elderly and sick. What we can’t understand is as these yobs had mothers and elderly in their families would they tolerate such treatment to their relatives? With a Bobbie-on-the beat of old this would not have happened because he would had a word in their ears and they would have moved on and one warning would have been enough. In 2006 trying to get a policeman is like trying to get some human contact when you have to contact large service companies, which is a miracle in itself. And when you contact the police station they put you on hold and you know what that means they are still trying to complete their daily mountain of politically correct paperwork. The Police Service is supposed to be a SERVICE to the PUBLIC Whereas most people get the opposite treatment. Only the other day we decided to enquire about the offer of ‘Broad band for
Ever’ And if ONLY the POLICE could show such enthusiasm to handle a call then something positive would have been be on the way to be achieved to the days many of us remember and which no doubt will never return . When one considers that
hundreds of thousands of the elderly now have taken the warning and now live
abroad. What an indictment it is that they no longer feel safe in their own
country. thugs. by Andrew Heath WORRIED neighbours have
pledged to rally round and protect pensioners after 86-year -old woman attacked
in her own home by two men. The Pensioner was returning
to her house in Shakespeare Avenue, Warwick, after a shopping trip at midday
last Friday when the duo struck, pushing the terrified woman to the floor and
barging in. Detectives believe the two
thugs had been lying in wait for their victim - and believe the incident could
be linked to the spate of similar offences across Warwick, Leamington and
Hampton Magna. A neighbour who heard he
screams came round and opened her door forcing the attackers to run to a green
car. The 86-year-old who lives on
her own, later told how it was the THIRD TIME she had been
attacked in recent months. She was being cared for by a neighbour and although shaking and bruised, said she was physically all right. Police said neighbours had supported the victim immediately after the attack. One neighbour, a 39-year-old mum from Hampton Road said: “We have got to keep our eyes and ears open now” “My elderly neighbour was burgled recently and the lady who used to live at the end-died as a result of the stress after they got to her” [We hope the Lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips when he next considers the treatment of criminals will spare a second for the ordeal experienced by the elderly lady above who lost hope and was one among thousands who knew the so-called JUSTICE system is not in being to protect the VICTIMS but to keep the THUGS from HELL from what they deserve and that is a few years in solitary. BUT as we all know there is no room for these teenagers from Hell but plenty of room for anyone who wishes to get their local authority to clean up the streets of filth, rubbish and syringes dropped by drug users as Miss Josephine Rooney the 69-year-old devote Christian held back a portion of her Council Tax and was put behind bars. What we ask is how with such a critical lack of space for thousands of dangerous and vicious criminals still on our streets -how were they able to find a space for Miss Rooney. Possibly they have given an early release to a murderer or rapist or a burglar who will be on his way to try his luck once more with terrifying a lonely old defenceless pensioner who has given up hope of any protection and was awaiting the final visit, which would cause the will to live to depart?] To continue: Describing the drama, she added: ‘I just saw a car go past my house and somebody moving behind it shouting ‘Stop, Stop” [But as we all know there were no police whistles in the area and no regular Bobbies-on-the-Beat to come rushing out to detain the villains and hurrying them to custody and hopefully later to JAIL. The forces of our supposed LAW and ORDER were in their police stations completing the massive paperwork and looking after the Human Rights of Criminals and telling the VICTIMS to change their locks and assure the terrified pensioners that the thugs from Hell will not return-Want a bet?] The tragic fact for those living in Blairdom is that the POLICE have GIVEN UP the STREETS and are now unaware what is happening to their charges in THEIR LOCALITY. The individual police officer was one of the most important persons in our community and he once felt a bond with his subject-citizens, which is now a feeling from the past. The police constable knows in his heart that he has been forced to let down his fellow subject- citizen who relied on him as the first defence from the criminal. He was also the human contact with AUTHORITY and his disappearance from the community has taken away a FRIEND of the PEOPLE and an INDEPENDENT observer of the state of society and its DEFENDER.] To continue: The attackers drove off
towards Hampton Road in a green car with the car boot up to hide the car
registration number. Witnesses said it was possibly a Vauxhall Vectra or a
Renault Laguna. Matt Roe, aged 28, assistant
manager at Blockbuster in Myton Road also saw the gang make their escape. He said: “I looked up and saw a car with two guys
chasing after it as it sped away down the road. They were both wearing surgical gloves.” Police are linking the raid
with another in Goldsmith Avenue 40 minutes later. The two men attempted to
force their way into the house of an elderly lady but she put up the
chain across the door. The
attackers left on foot in the direction of Hampton Road. They are also investigating
links with two incidents on Wednesday when a gang of three [?] struck at houses
in Hampton Magna and Leamington. They first called at an
address in Gresham Avenue, Leamington, at 1.30 pm, then later stole a wallet,
cash and a handbag from a house in Hampton Magna, after claiming to be from the
WATER BOARD. It
is thought three men may be involved. They are white and aged between 16 and 24
and 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall. Two
have blond hair and the third had brown hair. One was wearing a yellow and red
checked shirt. * * [With the motorway system in
the country as a highway and the ribbon of thousands of hamlets -villages and
towns on either side as the hunting grounds of these callous renegades -the
modern highwaymen. It is open house for them to
pick and choose their targets with no worry that they will be apprehended by a
police force which has long ago given up the streets and now mainly confined to
their block houses or sent on politically correct swoops on those who venture
to use their once hard fought for Freedom of Speech Should a householder make
any attempt to protect their property and give the intruder a bloody nose -a
call from the misunderstood villain to their friends in blue will activate a
fast response team -possibly armed to the teeth to apprehend the misguided
householders who thought their home was their castle. Our troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan suffer from the same symptoms of a system where the insurgents move
around at will and choose their targets as they are besieged in their
blockhouses and only venture out when in strength to do so. As for our soldiers
protecting their lives -there is a problem as they know that around every
vantage point a human rights lawyer may be lurking to justify their presence
and their end of year balance sheet. What our soldiers will be
over the moon about is that they are now joined by the home spun ‘Gender’ and
‘Health and Safety awareness’ workshops which they will be told will give them
some hope of a speedy transformation of the populace to the value of Western
democracy -if they believe everything their commanders are obliged to expound
under MoD direction. But returning to
the subject in hand the ONLY WAY to redress the balance of JUSTICE in favour of
the VICTIM will be for the GOVERNMENT to clear the streets of all known
CRIMINALS and fast track them to JAIL. After all we hear that the Home Office has been sitting on £30,000,000 -over the past two years which was earmarked for a prison building programme The crime against a vulnerable elderly Couple -no doubt one in many thousands happening every day of every week of every year and in circumstances which obtain already oversight and help from different agencies must ensure that the perpetrators of such an abominable crime should be caught and the TRUE JUSTICE which has been denied to so many victims under the reign of Blairdom should be RESTORED. The Lord Chief Justice Phillips should direct his attention from his concern for the perpetrators of CRIME and centre his REAL ATTENTION to the vulnerable couple we have described above who are one of tens of thousands who are being betrayed by their once PROTECTOR THE Lord Chief Justice of ENGLAND * * * [Font altered-bolding &
