East Europeans ‘are failing to integrate into British society

BRITAIN is in danger of failing to integrate its half a million Eastern European immigrants, a report warned yesterday.

Those who have crossed Europe in recent waves of migration are NOT adapting as successfully as their predecessors, an International Economic watchdog has said.

It called for Britain to ensure its handling of IMMIGRATION

- was welcoming but firm’.

The report, from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, said Britain took in a ‘historical record’ of

494,000

-foreign immigrants during 2004. [To add to the countless illegal immigrants and asylum seekers-possibly nearer a 1,000,000?]

It stressed the sheer scale of migration to Britain from Eastern Europe. More than

500,000

-Immigrants, the majority from Poland, have arrived here since eight new Eastern European countries joined the EU in May 2004. [Over two years ago]

Overall, the number of immigrants entering

Germany

dropped by 15 per cent in 2004

-while numbers of migrants arriving in

Britain

went up by 28 per cent

Only three EU countries

-Britain, Ireland and Sweden

- unreservedly accept workers from the eight new Eastern European members.

These are Poland Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.

Some original EU countries, including

German and France,

have effectively barred entry to such workers.

Few new migrants from the East have chosen to go to Sweden.

The OECD’s International Migration Outlook shows for the first time just how big Britain’s share of Eastern European migration is.

It revealed that while Britain took

480,000

-Migrants on the Workers’ Registration Scheme alone,

GERMANY

-has accepted [ONLY]

12,562

-Eastern Europeans in TOTAL- about 40 times [LESS]

Sweden

-has accepted ONLY

12,731

The OECD said:

‘There are currently close to

3,000,000

long-term immigrants entering, OECD countries legally every year.

Further migration, it said,

‘will only be possible if past and current immigrants, who are more and more numerous, are seen to be integrating without difficult in the host country.

‘Immigrant performance on the labour market, however, for both past and recent arrivals in many countries and even for their offspring, is not as favourable as in the past.

‘Letting in the right number of immigrants is another challenge:

Let too many in and some of them will have difficulty finding work:

Let too few in and labour market conditions may become tight.

The analysts said that the loss of skilled workers in migrants’ home countries was a growing problem.

They added that:

‘difficulties in integrating in some countries have led to restrictions on entry and stay’

This has led to a ‘public discourse on migration that is ambivalent’.

It added: Countries that demonstrate an even-handed management of migration movements that is at once

welcoming but firm

- and in accordance with national needs, will be in a more favourable position to profit fro the benefits of international migration.

The OECD’s concern follows a warning last month from Trevor Phillips, chief of the Commission for Racial Equality, of the possibility of riots and disorder involving Eastern European workers during the summer.

Large -scale immigration was also widely blamed for the success of the far-Right British National Party in May’s local elections.

Labour figures, including Blairite Minister Margaret Hodge, pointed to the impact of MIGRATION

-on social housing, jobs and wages for the existing population in parts of East London.

The ‘welcoming but firm’ line of the OECD comes at a time when immigration control appears to have fallen in chaos.

One senior official told MPs he did not have ‘the faintest idea’ how many illegal immigrants are in the country.

And an estimate published last year gave the total number of foreigners in the UK of

3,685,400

-or 6 per cent of the population [It would however, be wise to allow an error of a million or two knowing the chaotic mess on the mishandled immigration question?]

We now learn from the Daily Mail COMMENT on Christmas Eve that the Queen's Speech will cover the catastrophic fall in Values and Moral behaviour since the beginning of her 56 -year reign. This has been brought about by the actions of HER MINISTERS and the greater number of those in HER PARLIAMENT who have placed THEIR CONCERNS before the INTERESTS of THE PEOPLE and NATION STATE.

As for the fact that HER PEOPLE feel LOST that has been the direct result of the actions of HER SUCCESSIVE GOVERNMENTS and the TRAITOROUS POLITICIANS including PRIME MINISTERS who have stealthily over the 56 years of HER MAJESTY'S REIGN have almost achieved their aim of ENSLAVING the PEOPLE to a FOREIGN POWER.

The reason for the marked drop in the number viewing THE QUEEN'S SPEECH is no doubt because the mass of people have realised years ago that the MONARCH is powerless to PROTECT their WAY-OF-LIFE and events up to now have PROVED THEM CORRECT.
