KENNETH CLARKE stunned Westminster yesterday by declaring the single currency a political and economic failure.

In what will be seen as a decisive step towards a Tory leadership bid, Mr Clarke formally a passionate supporter of the EURO -said it would be at least ten years before Britain could contemplate scrapping the pound.

[In other words he is keeping his options open even though the Euro has been tried and tested and found to be wanting even by many of the founding members of the EU

It is not a reconstructed Tory Party that is needed but a change from the tweedledee and tweedledum system and instead have Proportional Representation -Single Transferable Vote which will we hope change the political scene at Westminster because medicine they have been dispensing over the last few decades has been shown to be foul and downright bad for us.]

To continue:

Asked about the prospects for British membership of the single currency, the ex-Chancellor said:

‘At the moment politically it has gone into the middle distance anyway,’ adding:

‘I doubt if it is possible for ten years or more.’

He also conceded that the Euro has been beset by ‘considerable teething problems’ since its launch in 2002.

And he admitted that the EU Constitution was ‘effectively dead’ with no way of rescuing it following the NO results in the French and Dutch referenda.

By ruling out both the Single Currency and the [EU] Constitution Mr Clarke effectively submitted himself to party policy on both issues [Whatever-that is?]

Allies described his critical assessment as a clear signal that he will not make membership of the Single Currency or the [EU] Constitution key objectives of his leadership manifesto

[For the time being]

And it paves the way for an announcement on his candidacy-his third attempt at the top job-within weeks.

His long-standing support for Europe and the Euro has always been considered one of the biggest obstacles to his chances of succeeding Michael Howard.

[We ask the question whether Kenneth Clarke should he become leader of Her Majesty’s Opposition -he is a known Bilderberger as is Tony Blair with his ingrained servility to the European Dream would not allow him to withdraw from the EU or change key parts of the Treaty?

In other words he will not put his country’s interests FIRST?

We doubt it, as it is an established fact that he with Tony Blair and many others in British society are members of the 50’s Secret World-Wide Conspiracy -The Bilderbergers.

The European Union fanatics are pinning their hopes on Ken Clarke because they know that there may come a time when their comfy well-paid jobs in the fraudulent monstrosity may be placed at risk. As everyone knows the EU Budget Accounts have not been passed for over ten years.

With the possibility of the total collapse of the EU it is important that the leaders of ALL the Westminster parties are not proven exponents of the European collectivist Police State but those who will never again sign away the sovereignty of OUR COUNTRY and can be trusted to reclaim our Independence from the EU in the not too distant future.

This will not be achievable by Kenneth Clarke.]

To continue:

MP’s have been waiting for a sign from Mr Clarke that he is serious about standing and willing to accept that he cannot hope to lead Britain into the Euro-Zone.

Mr Clarke is expected to announce his latest attempt for the leadership in about a fortnight after declaring that he has not lost his appetite for the job or his ambition to be Prime Minister.

But he has been under pressure to address the nagging problem of his undimmed support for Europe, which has left him at odds with many of his colleagues and a majority of the Tory membership.

Last night he used an interview in the August issue of the Central Banking Journal to shed some political baggage.

His willingness to admit that the Euro has been plagued by political difficulties that have left some experts questioning its future is a startling departure for Mr Clarke.

He put himself beyond the pale for many MP’s by fighting a running battle with former Prime Minister John Major in the 1990s to get Britain in with the first wave of Euro-members.

But in an attempt to show a Eurosceptic face [Not to be believed] he last night described the launch of the Single-Currency as a technical success’ [Tell that to the Italians] but poured scorn on its political and economic record.

‘I thought that direct head-to-head competition between firms and economies from member states, in which both their prices and costs were denominated in the same currency, would lead to increased productivity, efficiency and living standards and stimulate policy reforms,’ he said.

‘On that front so far it has been a failure. Politicians have not pushed forward reforms so there have been considerable teething problems in learning to live inside a Single-Currency Area’.

Mr Clarke has been holding meetings with key advisers ahead of an announcement that will pitch him against the youthful David Cameron for the votes of the Centre and the Left of the Party.

If he can build momentum he will force Mr Cameron to back his bid and form an alliance against the front-runner David Davis.

His supporters believe poll evidence showing Mr Clarke is popular with non-Tory voters will help sway undecided MP’s.

[The Tory Party must make up its mind what it stands for as its historic stance on Conservatives Issues has now been firmly dented.

Prior to the enslavement of our country inside the EU it was acceptable that there should be a wide scope of opinion -whether Far-Left, Left -Centre or Right or left of Centre or whatever when the domestic matters of the country were discussed. WE had the Tweedledee and the Tweedledum system in the main.

The above scheme of things were all acceptable provided as has happened over the last 32 years we do not have these parties giving away the right of OUR country to control the purse and the sovereignty of the Nation State.

Therefore we find there is No political party in Westminster to defend the right of millions of voters who never wished to be part of the EU or wished to accept the loss of sovereignty.

Only with Proportional Representation with the Single Transferable Vote will those who wish to live in a Free and Independent Nation State be able to have their voices heard.

When one hears those heirs to the Tory leadership telling those who are concerned about:

Immigration

Loss of sovereignty

Loss of accountability

Loss of common sense -because of Human Rights legislation

And much more.

That these are not important questions and that we must shut up.

This is the time for those who are at the blunt end of the tirade to say we need our own political party to fight for us as the drastic drop in membership of the main parties can reveal they no longer speak for millions of voters.

What is happening about this failure of Democracy -Nothing it appears, as the majority of politicians have no intention of sharing power at Westminster-particularly under Proportional Representation -Single Transferable Vote?

AS we have indicated before - the Maastricht Treaty would not have passed through the Commons and possibly there may have been withdrawal from the EU if there had been PR in existence over the past decade and the result would have been the saving of billions of pounds every year.

There would have been No Iraq War which has already cost the country over 5 billion pounds and growing by the month and the death of almost 100 British soldiers and many thousands injured - some disabled for life.

Would there have been an illegal Iraq War with P.R in place - certainly not. The millions who walked the streets for Peace would have been represented in Westminster. There would have been no collusion possible between the main parties, as they would have been forced to examine their policies under a wider scope of scrutiny.

Real Democracy in Britain will only exist under a PR system of election. The days of leaving it to the once protectors of our Constitution and Country are over.

The charade over the last 32 years is over and it is now up to the People to support the implementation of P.R Proportional Representation, which will offer more voters the choice, which has been denied, to them since the first election Reform Bill in 1832 when the start was made on the road to a True Democratic State which is still in the early years of the 21st century beyond our reach.
