Every child
growing up in Britain
should recognise and understand
the significance of the
National Anthem. But few do.
Just ask a class of primary
school children
to recite the famous first verse
(‘God
save our gracious Queen…’)
It is unlikely
there will be a single child who
can do it, unless someone has
been in Brownies or Cubs with a
traditionally inclined leader.
And I’ve never
met anyone under the age of 50
who knows by heart the second
verse
(‘Thy choicest gifts in store…’)
My generation was made to learn
it at school.
The tune has a
resonance, too, and should be
heard far more often than it now
is. Remember when it is played
before all public performances?
When I was a
child, they even played it at
the cinema at the end of the
evening, and a surprising number
of people stopped and stood
silently until it was finished.
I doubt my
six-year old grand daughter and
thousands like her have ever
heard it.
I watched a group
of children at a recent event at
which, unusually God Save The
Queen was played. They
carried on chatting and munching
chips.
They had no idea what it was or
how they were supposed to react.
Unless we do
something about it - when we get
the Olympics in 2012, there will
be a lot of blank British faces
whenever that famous drum role
and G major chord are played
-something of an indictment of
the cultural education of our
youngsters.

have been watching the recent
showing of the indoctrination of
German children in the Hitler
Youth in the 30’s who lost their
childhood must see the dangers
of the blatant indoctrination of
the child in Britain since the
arrival of the
politically-correct brigade of
Tony Blair in 1997.
As this timely
Essay has shown Blairdom
has almost
taken away from our children
love of country and respect for
our historical role in the world
since our ancestors arrived in
this island and established
England over 1500 years ago.
The Chiefs of our
Armed Forces have expressed
their concern of the low
standard of the new young
entrants and their lack of
values and discipline and low
educational standards and as a
result there is difficulty in
obtaining sufficient
replacements of the high
standard needed in the British
Army in particular.]

God save The King
was a patriotic song first
publicly performed 270 years ago
in London at the Theatre Royal,
Drury lane - after a play. It
caught on and soon the practice
spread to other theatres.
Then the custom
of using it as a greeting for an
arriving monarch was
established.
Since the
beginning of the 19th
century, God Save The King/Queen
has been Britain’s National
Anthem.
No one knows who
originally wrote the music or
the words, although the 1745
version was arranged by Thomas
Arne. It is a highly regarded
tune. Many composers have
borrowed it:
Beethoven
Handel
Charles Ives
For example.
And there have
been some splendid new
arrangements of it by:
Edward Elgar
Benjamin
Britten.
Like the King
James Bible, The Book of Common
Prayer,
nursery rhymes and traditional
hymns, the National Anthem
is part of our
CULTURAL
HERITAGE.
That’s why
children should know it.
The fact that the
National Anthem is basically a
Christian Hymn makes no
difference. Irrespective of an
individual’s personal belief or
background, the anthem is a
symbol of our country that has
been underpinned by Christian
culture for 1700 years.
Let’s have no
woolly political correctness
about republicanism, either.
This
Kingdom remains a Monarchy.
The Queen is the
Head of State
The National
Anthem
reminds us of that.
All American
children learn and sing the Star
Spangled Banner regularly.
But in Britain
-God Save The
Queen isn’t even on the
National Curriculum for music.
Neither is it
mentioned anywhere else in the
curriculum. Children aged seven
to fourteen must experience a ‘range
of live and recorded music from
different times and cultures
(for example, from the British
Isles, from classical folk and
popular genres by well-known
composers and performers)’.
Why does the
national Curriculum not add’
including the
National Anthem’?
Elsewhere it
specifies’ including the works
of
Shakespeare’.
The principle is
identical.
In primary
schools it would be a simple
matter to play the National
Anthem once a week at assembly
and make the children stand and
listen to it.
They could also
learn the words in class and
sing it together on suitable
occasions.
And in music
lessons, they might like
Beethoven, have a go at
composing some variations on the
tune. In history, they could
learn about the relationship
between the Anthem and the 1745
Jacobite rebellion.
Times are
troubled and in the aftermath of
the recent bombings in London,
some commentators and Government
ministers want to redefine
Britishness and/or Englishness.
A National
Anthem
is the aural
equivalent of the country’s
motto, crest or flag? It can
help to bond its people.
It doesn’t matter
whether you are British-Indian,
Jewish-British or
English-Australian (or whatever
label the Government attaches)
the
National
Anthem
Could and SHOULD,
help to unite us.
Don’t let it be
thrown away by republican
apologists, misguided atheist
teachers, or anyone who thinks
God Save The
Queen
-somehow insults
[those British citizens from the
four corners of the world who
have chosen our island as their
home].

[The significance
of the above remarks must be
placed against the background of
this country’s entry into the
then supposed ‘European
Common Market’? in 1972.
Since that time
all politicians with a
Pro-European policy have done
their utmost to destroy our
culture and instil a distain for
our past so as to ensure the
destruction of our Common Law
and a speedy entry of the people
into the continental system
Corpus Juris and
collectivist European Police
State.
Many of us today
regret that our present Queen
has not a speck of the
Prerogative of her illustrious
ancestor Queen Elizabeth the
First of England (1558-1603).
If our present
Queen had been able to regain
some more positive control of
Her Ministers of State and of
the actions of Her Prime
Ministers it might have been a
different country today as many
of her subjects are bewildered
as to how it was possible that a
Prime Minister of Britain could
ever have considered signing the
New European Constitution and
bringing the People into
Slavery.
Many of her
subjects wonder why the Monarch
has allowed her Ministers to
proceed so far even taking into
account
Her Majesty’s
reduced constitutional power: -

The gigantic
stone of slavery

think that a future Referendum
on the New European Constitution
was forced upon Tony Blair from
a quarter we are not to mention.
It is no surprise
to many subjects who still have
memories of the Second World War
that the present difficulties
with Identity and the Nation
State have been the direct
result of those who wish to
banish the name England from the
land of a people who arrived
here with their families over
1500 years ago.
Our present
problems are the direct result
of the majority allowing a
dangerous and vociferous
minority to almost destroy a
Nation State with the name
England
and at
the same time emphasise the
separate Identity of the
Nation States of Scotland and
Wales, which must be
supported at the expense of that
Nation the politically correct
wish to destroy.
The Patient is
very sick some say there is no
hope of recovery but with
support and the correct
diagnosis and treatment we
should work to prove them wrong.
We have made a start but there
is much work to do and only by
Independent advice from another
quarter will the true answer be
found by Proportional
Representation-Single
transferable Vote].
For once we
should ALL look after the
patient to ensure that the
outlook is positive and that
means identifying the illness
and prompt treatment or all is
lost.
