AT CHRISTMAS THERE IS A BRIGHT STAR TO FOLLOW
JOSIE'S WISE LESSONS IN LIFE
AFTER two years of battling leukemia,
including two failed bone marrow transplants, 16-year-old Josie Grove
has decided to walk away from hospital and give up the aggressive
chemotherapy drugs that have left her feeling so ill.
'I want to get on with my life and
enjoy spending time with my family,' she says.
This teenager has more wisdom and
dignity than most people muster in a lifetime.
In a world where we cling on to every
new drug and every miracle treatment in the hope it will give us a few
more months of life, what courage it takes for a terminally-ill young
girl to stand up and say:
'It's the quality of life that
matters most, not the quantity.'
Happy Christmas, Josie.
You richly deserve it.
