AS THE
DISCREDITED 'MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE' MEET IN DAVOS,
SWITZERLAND
...few among the
POLITICIANS or BANKERS, however are likely to be
rash enough to be photographed sharing a JOKE.
They know that the MOOD among their respective
PEOPLES is DEADLY EARNEST...
Tricksters
Some wealth will
eventually return, as stock markets and property
values make a faltering recovery.
This mirage was
created of course, by the bankers. We now
discover this gilded breed to have been an
ar8stocracy of confidence tricksters. It is
debatable whether many, or given any, committed
indictable criminal offences, because they can argue
THAT THEY ACTED IN
GOOD FAITH.
But the consequence
of their actions was
FRAUDULENT
They paid
themselves stupendous rewards for generating profits
WHICH HAVE
PROVED FICTITIOUS.
They claimed
unique expertise in operating a system
WHICH THEY
LOOTED
leaving customers
and investors squatting among the wreckage.
Many use creative accountancy to ESCAPE INCOME TAX.
TODAY, the world
understands this. Only one group of people
seems oblivious and still appears not to have got
the message about their responsibility: THE MONEY
MEN THEMSELVES.
Latest published
figures show that the big WALL STREET banks' bonus
pool for the year just ended has fallen by a risible
4.7 per cent during 2007-8. An average of
£130,000 PER
WORKER
which takes account
of typists and doormen -HAS
BEEN PAID OUT.
The big players, a
substantial number of them British, have of course
received the lion's share, with much larger sums of
money. A banker shrugs: 'If we don't pay the
bonuses, we lose the talent.' To be sure, thousands
of City and Wall Street employees HAVE LOST THEIR
JOBS. BUT those who remain still suppose that
the rate for the jobs which they do can justly be
measured in hundreds of thousands, or even MILLIONS
OF POUNDS.
THEY simply
WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE their FAILURE and EXPOSURE.
Having developed over the past few decades a gross
sense of SELF -ENTITLEMENT, they CANNOT UNDERSTAND
that by any objective criterion, THEY HAVE SHOWN
THEMSELVES NOT WORTH THE MONEY....
Insult
I am a capitalist,
and I believe in
REWARD FOR SUCCESS.
If we ever get out
of this economic mess, and real businesses are once
more generating real wealth, it seems perfectly
acceptable for those who run them to receive big pay
cheques.
TODAY, HOWEVER, it
is an INSULT to MILLIONS of PEOPLE who are LOSING
THEIR JOBS and have watched THEIR SAVINGS DECIMATED
to be asked to TOLERATE the continuance of the BANK
BONUS CULTURE.
It is sometimes
said that this is no time for cheap revenge; that
hanging bankers from the lampposts will do no one
any good. MAYBE. BUT it is quite another
matter to expect us to stand waving beside the
tracks, while the great golden City and Wall Street
gravy train toots merrily on towards the next
conveyer belt of money, MOST OF IT OURS.
It would be
hopeless to expect many of the moguls assembling in
Davos , Switzerland, this week to eat humble pie.
BUT if they continue to PAY THEMSELVES MILLIONS
they should not be surprised to look down from their
windows in LONDON and NEW YORK and see threatening
faces peering upwards, and hands fingering ropes.

[It is obvious that
a great many of these well-heeled confidence
tricksters are on a planet of their own. Their world
is not the world we know. It is more a selfish
greedy get-rich aspiration of a computer machine
,with no conscience, which is abhorrent to most
human beings. These people in the main have NO
LOVE OF COUNTRY-NO LOVE OF VALUES-NO HUMAN
SENSIBILITY. THEY LIVE ON BONUSES as a crocodile
lives off its prey. They live for WEALTH and POWER. They are rich enough to take the
next rocket space ship to outer space and as soon as
they go the better it will be for us. If they
try their devious dirty tricks in space we hope they
get what they JUSTLY DESERVE. We hear that the
Government itself has much explaining to do and if
all we hear is TRUE then the GOVERNMENT itself
should FALL.]
